This brief work is the thesis of Imam Kamil Yusuf Avdich
(1914-1979) written for the School of Higher Shariah in Sarajevo in
1937. Avdich was a pioneer in the history of Islam in America -- he
started some of the earliest Islamic periodicals in the United
States, wrote "An Outline of Islam" the first textbook for Islamic
Sunday Schools, and led the Bosnian Muslim community in Chicago.
