Hypertension and epilepsy are significant predicators of reduced
total and disability free life. Epilepsy is the second most common
neurological disorder after stroke. It affects 0.5-1% of the
population worldwide. Hypertension is an established risk factor
for epilepsy through vascular brain damage. Hypertension is also a
major factor for epilepsy with other diseases, even severe and
uncontrolled hypertension might increase the risk of epilepsy. So,
combination of an antihypertensive drug with an antiepileptic drug
is the best way to treat epilepsy associated with risk factors from
hypertension. Combination of Carvedilol and Gabapentin are relative
safe in patients who are at the risk of epilepsy from hypertension.
