The U.S. Civil War divided the nation and more than 6.5 million men
saw combat. Hispanics in the U.S. were also divided, be it by
demographics, family, or political loyalties. Some Hispanics from
California to Rhode Island served the Union cause, along with men
from New Mexico and some from Texas. Most of the Southern states
saw Hispanic men in its ranks. Others traveled across the Mason -
Dixie line to serve their particular cause. There haven't been many
books on the subject of Hispanics who served in the Civil war, this
book is a compiled list of those men of Hispanic Ancestry who
served, some died, others were wounded, yet all made a sacrifice
and they should never be forgotten.
