The Desktop Speed Sounds Chart includes all of the mnemonics from
the classroom frieze on a handy double-sided A4 sheet for each
child to use as a reference when they are learning the sounds. One
side shows all of the Set 1 sounds and the other shows the Set 2
and 3 sounds. Short phrases for the sounds are included to help
children remember the sound, for example: ay may I play; a-e make a
cake; ai snail in the rain. The Desktop Speed Sounds Chart is part
of the wider Read Write Inc. Phonics programme, developed by Ruth
Miskin. The programme is designed to create fluent readers,
confident speakers and willing writers. It includes Handbooks,
Sounds Cards, Word Cards, Storybooks, Non-fiction and Writing
