English summary: The paradigmatic significance attributed to this day to the university reform of Wilhelm von Humboldt is reason enough to inquire into the historical impact and present importance of Schleiermacher's concepts that influenced the new foundation of the Berlin university 200 years ago. To achieve this goal this volume places the ideas and initiatives that Schleiermacher contributed to establishing the new university in Berlin in the larger context of his explanatory statement on the scientific nature of theology. Central to this is his definition of the relationship between religion and Christianity, between church and culture, which is part of his attempt to arrive at a definition of theology, Christianity and the church that can meet our modern expectations.
