A very complete record of Horace, his life, his thoughts and his
works in the first half of the book, followed by the Elegiac Poets.
William Young Sellar is the author of Roman Poets of the Republic.
From 1853-1859 he was an assistant professor at the University of
St. Andrew, and from 1859-1863 was Greek Professor at that
university. In 1863, to the great regret of St. Andrews, Mr. Sellar
went to Edinburgh to fill the Chair of Latin.
