The comparative analysis investigates viewers' recognitions of the sacred in specific locations or segments of space with an emphasis on the experiential and conceptual relationships between sacred spaces and human bodies. This volume thus reassesses the empowering aspects of space, time, and human agency in religious contexts. By focusing on investigations of human endeavors towards experiential and visual expressions that shape perceptions of holiness, this study ultimately aims to present a better understanding of the corporeality of sacred art and architecture. It considers two non-classical fracture mechanisms, namely the fracture of bodies compressed along cracks and the fracture of materials with initial (residual) stresses acting in parallel to the surfaces of cracks location, and presents new approaches (also including combined one) developed in the framework of three-dimensional linearized mechanics of deformable bodies. It then discusses the results of studies on two- and three-dimensional problems for various configurations of crack locations in isotropic and anisotropic materials, and based on these results, critically evaluates the accuracy and applicability limits of the "beam approximation" approach, which is widely used to study various problems of the fracture of bodies under compression along parallel cracks.

This makes it necessary to use different levels of description: microscopic, kinetic, and gas-dynamical. A unified quasiclassical approach is used to answer practical questions dealing with inelastic gas-surface scattering, the kinetics of adsorption layers, the evolution of inhomogeneities and defects at the surface, the Knudsen layer, the development of boundary conditions on the kinetic and gas-dynamical levels, the determination of exchange and slip coefficients, and so on.

These approaches concentrate mostly on the algebraic picture, and they use a language suitable for applications to quantum field theory. Another well-known approach, the a-dressing method, developed by S. V. Manakov and V.E. Zakharov, is oriented mostly to particular systems and ex act classes of their solutions. There is more emphasis on analytic properties, and the technique is connected with standard complex analysis. The language of the a-dressing method is suitable for applications to integrable nonlinear PDEs, integrable nonlinear discrete equations, and, as recently discovered, for t.he applications of integrable systems to continuous and discret.e geometry. The primary motivation of the author was to formalize the approach to int.e grable hierarchies that was developed in the context of the a-dressing method, preserving the analytic struetures characteristic for this method, but omitting the peculiarit.ies of the construetive scheme. On the Very Edge brings together fourteen empirical and comparative essays about the production, perception, and reception of modernity and modernism in the visual arts, architecture, and literature of interwar Serbia (1918 1941). The contributions highlight some idiosyncratic features of modernist processes in this complex period in Serbian arts and society, which emerged "on the very edge" between territorial and cultural, new and old, modern and traditional identities.

Empiriomonism is Alexander Bogdanov 's scientific-philosophical substantiation of Marxism. In Books One and Two, he combines Ernst Mach 's and Richard Avenarius 's neutral monist philosophy with the theory of psychophysical parallelism and systematically demonstrates that human psyches are thoroughly natural and are subject to nature 's laws. In Book Three, Bogdanov argues that empiriomonism is superior to G. V. Plekhanov 's outdated materialism and shows how the principles of empiriomonism solve the basic problem of historical materialism: how a society 's material base causally determines its ways of thinking. Bogdanov concludes that empiriomonism is of the same order as materialist systems, and, since it is the ideology of the productive forces of society, it is a Marxist philosophy.
