This book explores issues of rights, issues and challenges faced by Indian migrant workers in GCC countries. It focuses on the struggle of migrants in the state of origin and destination states and how the process of migration shapes the identity and existence of migrant workers. The essays in the volume focus on policy, rights, issues, and challenges faced by the migrants as well as the long-term challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. With contributions from academics and policymakers, this book will be of interest to scholars and researchers of migration and diaspora studies, public policy, and South Asian Studies.
Cinnamon and Cassia, the "Spices of Life," together constitute one of the most widely used group of spices. A comprehensive volume, Cinnamon and Cassia: Genus Cinnamomum explores in detail Srilankan cinnamon, Chinese cassia, Indonesian cassia, Indian cassia, camphor, and also the important related and useful spices of Cinnamomum. The introductory chapter depicts the history of these spices, followed by a detailed analysis of botany and crop improvement that examines taxonomy, morphology, embryology, reproduction, and propagation. A chapter on chemistry details the unique composition of cinnamon and cassia; it precedes an explanation of crop management, harvesting, and processing of Srilankan cinnamon. This book points out that Vietnamese and Chinese cassia are the same, with differences only in harvesting and processing. It also includes chapters on Indian and Indonesian varieties of cassia, along with overviews of the camphor tree, and coverage of cinnamon and cassia pharmacology, toxicology, end uses, economics, and marketing. The volume concludes with an informative chapter on other economically useful species of Cinnamomum. Written by a panel of experts from throughout Asia, this volume is the only comprehensive monograph on these spices, benefiting those engaged in study, cultivation, marketing, processing, and product development.
This book addresses the challenges of data abstraction generation using a least number of database scans, compressing data through novel lossy and non-lossy schemes, and carrying out clustering and classification directly in the compressed domain. Schemes are presented which are shown to be efficient both in terms of space and time, while simultaneously providing the same or better classification accuracy. Features:Â describes a non-lossy compression scheme based on run-length encoding of patterns with binary valued features; proposes a lossy compression scheme that recognizes a pattern as a sequence of features and identifying subsequences; examines whether the identification of prototypes and features can be achieved simultaneously through lossy compression and efficient clustering; discusses ways to make use of domain knowledge in generating abstraction; reviews optimal prototype selection using genetic algorithms; suggests possible ways of dealing with big data problems using multiagent systems.
Cancer is initiated by activation of oncogenes or inactivation of tumor suppressor genes. Mutations in the K-ras proto-oncogene are responsible for 10-30% of adenocarcinomas. Clinical Findings point to a wide variety of other cancers contributing to lung cancer incidence. Such a scenario makes identification of lung cancer difficult and thus identifying its mechanisms can contribute to the society. Identifying unique conserved patterns common to contributing proto-oncogenes may further be a boon to Pharmacogenomics and pharmacoinformatics. This calls for ab initio/de novo drug discovery that in turn will require a comprehensive in silico approach of Sequence, Domain, Phylogenetic and Structural analysis of the receptors, ligand screening and optimization and detailed Docking studies. This brief involves extensive role of the RAS subfamily that includes a set of proteins, which cause an over expression of cancer-causing genes like M-ras and initiate tumour formation in lungs. SNP Studies and Structure based drug discovery will also be undertaken.
As data mining algorithms are typically applied to sizable volumes of high-dimensional data, these can result in large storage requirements and inefficient computation times. This unique text/reference addresses the challenges of data abstraction generation using a least number of database scans, compressing data through novel lossy and non-lossy schemes, and carrying out clustering and classification directly in the compressed domain. Schemes are presented which are shown to be efficient both in terms of space and time, while simultaneously providing the same or better classification accuracy, as illustrated using high-dimensional handwritten digit data and a large intrusion detection dataset. Topics and features: presents a concise introduction to data mining paradigms, data compression, and mining compressed data; describes a non-lossy compression scheme based on run-length encoding of patterns with binary valued features; proposes a lossy compression scheme that recognizes a pattern as a sequence of features and identifying subsequences; examines whether the identification of prototypes and features can be achieved simultaneously through lossy compression and efficient clustering; discusses ways to make use of domain knowledge in generating abstraction; reviews optimal prototype selection using genetic algorithms; suggests possible ways of dealing with big data problems using multiagent systems. A must-read for all researchers involved in data mining and big data, the book proposes each algorithm within a discussion of the wider context, implementation details and experimental results. These are further supported by bibliographic notes and a glossary."""

This book is intended for textile designers, fashion designers, and for those interested in the integration of graphic design with textile surface printing. The book discusses how abstract graphic designs with intense color palette range work on different types of fabrics, will be beneficial for designers. The book provides beautiful illustrations of abstract designs that can be used directly for textile printing and also acts as inspiration (or motivation) for development of new designs. Abstract designs represent an accurate depiction of a visual reality and uses shapes, colors and forms to achieve its effect. This book provides illustrations that show the importance of color and color combinations with bright, warm and dull colors. The book presents flawless illustrations with great harmony between the diverse shapes and overall color combinations. All the illustrations in this book are explained briefly. The illustrations can also be used in other areas like wall paper design, packaging design, ceramic design and many more.

The series "Topics in Heterocyclic Chemistry" will present critical reviews on "Heterocyclic Compounds" within topic related volumes dealing with all aspects such as synthesis, reaction mechanisms, structure complexity, properties, reactivity, stability, fundamental and theoretical studies, biology, biomedical studies, pharmacological aspects, applications in material sciences etc. Metabolism will be also included which will provide information useful in designing pharmacologically active agents. Pathways involving destruction of heterocyclic ring will also be dealt with so that synthesis of specifically functionalized non-heterocyclic molecules can be designed. Overall scope is to cover topics dealing with most of the areas of current trends in heterocyclic chemistry which will suit to a larger heterocyclic community.
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play very significant role in almost all countries of the world irrespective of their development stage. Developed countries like Japan, China, Malaysia, Taiwan, the United States of America and the United Kingdom have developed through the MSMEs many aspects of business such as employment generation, export, tax, income, innovation, competitiveness. The recent wave of Globalization has influenced overall business of the world. The MSMEs have prospered better under this wave of Globalization. Particularly in India, they have made a significant impact on income distribution, social stability, domestic resources utilization technique, structural and regional development, exports, employment and creation of a broad entrepreneurial base. Hence, the MSMEs' are rightly regarded as the backbone of modern Indian economy. With the advent of planned economy in 1951, and the subsequent industrial policy of the Government of India, both planners and the Government have earmarked for small and medium industries a special role in the economy.

The headmaster job is indeed interesting and varied and full of opportunities for the persons who are stimulated by challenges. The headship is a profession for those interested in organizing and administering all aspects of education that produce the attitudes, values, knowledge and skills for future generations. The headmaster of a school is the hubs of the educational process, on his abilities and skills as sound and competent educational leaders depends the success of the school. Doubtless, the college is essentially a co-operative enterprise, in which every member, big or small, high or low, has a vital role to play, yet the headmaster who is entrusted with the responsibility of co-ordination, guiding and integrating the various programmes, are key persons. Every aspect in the school, the physical plant, the staff, the curriculum, methods and techniques of teaching, co-curriculum activities, human relationships, bear the imprint of the personality of the headmaster and reflect their leadership behaviour.
