The complete screenplay of Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer.
Oppenheimer centers on the life of the "father of the atomic bomb."
Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus by Kai
Bird and Martin J. Sherwin, the film stars Cillian Murphy as the
man who led the effort, in the midst of a world war, to unleash the
power of the atom. Christopher Nolan has fashioned a story of
discovery bathed in the light of a thousand suns - but one that is
darkened by government surveillance and the travesty of a trial to
which Oppenheimer was subjected. In his introduction to the
screenplay, Kai Bird, co-author of American Prometheus, praises
Nolan's skill in taking an extremely complex life story and
miraculously turning it into "visual art that is faithful both to
the history and the man."
n Interstellar a group of explorers make use of a newly discovered
wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and
conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage. The
screenplay of Interstellar is written by Christopher Nolan and his
frequent collaborator, Jonathan Nolan. The film stars Matthew
McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway and Michael Caine, and
looks set to surpass the visions of Stanley Kubrick and the
technical achievment of Gravity. In addition to the screenplay,
this book also contains over 200 pages of storyboards and an
Introduction featuring a conversation about the film with
Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan. Christopher Nolan's other
films include Momento, Insomnia, The Dark Knight Trilogy and most
recently Inception which starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy,
Ellen Page, Marion Cotillard and Michael Caine.
Starring Christopher Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Cillian
Murphy and Morgan Freeman, the trilogy commenced with Batman
Begins, which traced the origins of how Bruce Wayne took on the
role of the masked crusader to fight the forces of evil. But the
Batman's adversaries in the first film paled in comparison to the
forces of anarchy unleashed by The Joker in the second film, The
Dark Knight. Physically and psychologically depleted by his
encounter with The Joker, in The Dark Knight Rises, Batman must
marshal all his forces to meet the threat to Gotham City posed by
the masked villain Bane. These three films form a trilogy unique in
the history of cinema - and express a dark imaginative vision that
reflects the uncertainties of the 21st century. Nominated for
thirteen BAFTA awards and nine Oscars, the Dark Knight Trilogy
starred Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman and
Morgan Freeman. Christopher Nolan's other films include Insomnia,
Momento, Inception and most recently Interstellar starring Matthew
McConaughey and Anne Hathaway.
Interstellar, from acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan, takes us
on a fantastic voyage far beyond our solar system. Yet in The
Science of Interstellar, Kip Thorne, the Nobel prize-winning
physicist who assisted Nolan on the scientific aspects of
Interstellar, shows us that the movie's jaw-dropping events and
stunning, never-before-attempted visuals are grounded in real
science. Thorne shares his experiences working as the science
adviser on the film and then moves on to the science itself. In
chapters on wormholes, black holes, interstellar travel, and much
more, Thorne's scientific insights-many of them triggered during
the actual scripting and shooting of Interstellar-describe the
physical laws that govern our universe and the truly astounding
phenomena that those laws make possible. Interstellar and all
related characters and elements are trademarks of and (c) Warner

From film-maker Christopher Nolan ("Memento," "Batman Begins") and
writer Jonathan Nolan (whose original short story 'Memento Mori'
was the basis of "Memento") comes a mysterious tale of two
magicians whose intense rivalry erupts into a life-long battle
lethally fueled by obsession, deceit, and jealousy. In late
nineteenth-century England, two stage illusionists are drawn into a
match of wits, each desiring to annihilate the reputation of the
other. Upper-class Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) enjoys worldwide
fame, while cockney Alfred Borden (Christian Bale) is his most
ardent rival. Their antagonism is also a mutual fascination, but
the competition between them leads to evermore dangerous acts of
conjuring. When Angier raises the stakes by consulting scientist
Nikola Tesla (David Bowie), the potential for a deadly reckoning
draws near. This volume contains an Introduction by Jonathan Nolan
and Christopher Nolan. From film-maker Christopher Nolan

Christopher Nolan's previous films have reflected the uncertainties
of the twentieth-first century. With Dunkirk, Nolan has gone back
into the past and brought to life one of the momentous events of
the twentieth-century - the evacuation of British troops from
Dunkirk, telling the tale by land, sea, and sky. Dunkirk opens as
hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops are surrounded
by enemy forces. Trapped on the beach with their backs to the sea,
they face an impossible situation as the enemy closes in. The film
features a prestigious cast, including Kenneth Branagh, Cillian
Murphy, and newcomer Fionn Whitehead, with Mark Rylance and Tom
Hardy. The screenplay is accompanied by a conversation about the
film between Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan, as well as
selected storyboards.
A powerful and moving autobiography from a gifted writer who has
been compared to Joyce and Yeats. 'A book of sheer wonder. As an
author he competes as an equal with the ablest of them' DAILY
EXPRESS This is the story of Joseph Meehan, born cruelly
handicapped and known to the world as 'the crippled boy'. Filled
with insight into the soul inside a broken body and warm with the
beauties of the Irish landscape it is the story of Joseph's fight
to escape the restrictions and confines of his existence. UNDER THE
EYE OF THE CLOCK can also be read as the autobiography of its
author, Christopher Nolan.
"Batman Begins," directed by the award-winning Christopher Nolan
("Memento," "Insomnia"), unveils the untold origins of the Dark
Knight's emergence as a force for good in Gotham City. In the wake
of his parents' murder, disillusioned industrial heir Bruce Wayne
travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice and turn
fear against those who prey on the fearful. He returns to Gotham
City and unveils his alter ego: Batman, a masked crusader who uses
his strength, intellect, and an array of high-tech deceptions to
fight the sinister forces that threaten the city.
As Bruce Wayne/Batman, Christian Bale heads an all-star cast that
also includes Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Katie Holmes, Gary
Oldman, Tom Wilkinson, Rutger Hauer and Morgan Freeman. Visionary
director Christopher Nolan has delivered the Batman we've been
waiting for - a dark legend brought to life in a way never before
imagined on the big screen.
This volume contains the complete screenplay of "Batman Begins" by
Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer, together with storyboards for
the picture drawn by Martin Asbury and James Cornish, and an
exclusive interview with Christopher Nolan in which he reveals his
cinematic vision of The Dark Knight.
Memento is a remarkably layered psychological-puzzle film that explores the narrative possibilities of noir, at once turning its detective into a surrogate for the viewer while forcing the viewer to embark on the same kind of sleuthing its main character is up to. Leonard Shelby (Guy Pearce) is a former insurance investigator who, since his wife's rape and apparent murder, has suffered from a condition that renders him unable to form new memories. Despite his affliction, he's vowed to find his wife's killer and keeps track of his search with scribbled notes, Polaroids, clues tattooed on his body, and sheaves of documents. But as this original, intense, and widely acclaimed film progresses, everything Leonard holds as fact is undermined in a heart-pounding narrative that will keep audiences guessing until the final reel—and beyond.
Also offered in this edition is the screenplay for Following, Christopher Nolan's critically acclaimed debut. This film follows an aspiring writer who finds an unlikely ally in a burglar who claims he breaks into houses only to experience other people's lives.
Finally, along with both screenplays, there is an interview with Christopher Nolan and Jeremy Theobald (in which they talk to James Mottram about the making of Following) as well as a jointly composed piece by Christopher Nolan and his brother Jonathan (author of the story on which Memento was based) in which they recall the conception of the film.
