Is there a linkage between "smart power" and Hillary Clinton's leadership style? Can she advance American leadership and women's development worldwide? The Global Hillary addresses these questions and many others. Bringing together two key aspects of Clinton's ongoing career-her advocacy for international women's rights and the mission to foster democratic development around the world-The Global Hillary critically analyzes Clinton's role as a transformative leader of global influence. Essays in this collection provide insight into Clinton's leadership style, particularly her use of American "smart power" in foreign policy, while examining her impact on the continuing worldwide struggle for women's rights. Using international perspectives on the historical and cultural contexts of Clinton's leadership, this book also looks toward the future of women's political leadership in the 21st century with special attention to the prospect of electing a woman to the United States presidency.
The Global Obama examines the president's image in five continents and more than twenty countries. It is the first book to look at Barack Obama's presidency and analyze how Obama and America are viewed by publics, governments, and political commentators around world. The author of Barack Obama in Hawaii and Indonesia: The Making of a Global President (Top 10 Black History Book) scaled the globe to gather opinions - cultural, historical, and political analyses - about Obama's leadership style. Writers, journalists, psychologists, consultants, and social scientists present their views on Obama's leadership, popularity, and many of the global challenges that still remain unresolved. As a progress report, this is the first book that tries to grasp 'the Obama phenomenon' in totality, as perceived by populations around the world with special focus on America's leadership in the 21st Century.

Worldwide interest in adolescent health issues has grown dramatically beginning with the International Year of Youth in 1985 and the World Health Assembly, UNICEF & UNFDA issued a joint statement on reproductive health of adolescents in 1989 to address their problems. The reproductive health of young school adolescent girls has not been fully explored and understood all over the world, more so in developing countries.Lack of information, social taboos, paucity of health services, low level of education and host of other socio-economic & cultural factors have been responsible for this neglected area of research.Consequently, they face a number of problems like anaemia, unsafe abortions, miscarriage, sexual exploitation, increased possibility of sexually transmitted infections including HIV/AIDS.An attempt has been made to assess the knowledge, perceptions and practices in relation to reproductive health including menstruation among girls. This book falls short of in providing interventions in the form of audiovisual material regarding reproductive health among the girls and then conducting post test session to assess the impact of interventions.
Distinguishing itself from the mass of political biographies of Barack Obama, this first interdisciplinary study of Obama's Indonesian and Hawai'ian years examines their effect on his adult character, political identity, and global world-view. The first 18 years of President Obama's life, from his birth in 1961 to his departure for college in 1979, were spent in Hawai'i and Indonesia. These years fundamentally shaped the traits for which the adult Obama is noted-his protean identity, his nuanced appreciation of multiple views of the same object, his cosmopolitan breadth of view, and his self-rooted "outpost" patriotism. Barack Obama in Hawai'i and Indonesia: The Making of a Global President is the first study to examine, in fascinating detail, how his early years impacted this unique leader. Existing biographies of President Obama are primarily political treatments. Here, cross-cultural psychologist and marketing consultant Dinesh Sharma explores the connections between Obama's early upbringing and his adult views of civil society, secular Islam, and globalization. The book draws on the author's on-the-ground research and extensive first-hand interviews in Jakarta; Honolulu; New York; Washington, DC; and Chicago to evaluate the multicultural inputs to Obama's character and the ways in which they prepared him to meet the challenges of world leadership in the 21st century.
