Supervisors, project managers and CEOs should find this book useful as it deals with an emerging global reality - culturally diverse people of both genders in the workplace. The new workplace environment demands that employees be selected, evaluated and promoted on the basis of performance competency, regardless of sex, race, religion or place of origin. Focusing on workplace diversity instead of concepts of "majority" and "minority" allows managers to offer all personnel equal opportunities. Affirmative action is now aimed at developing human potential Diversity is becoming a worldwide phenomenon. Written from the North American viewpoint, this book examines the key concepts that drive American plants and offices today which are likely to be realities overseas tomorrow, and the concepts espoused in this book can be applied universally The book fills a gap in management education and development. It is a practical manual designed to teach and encourage managers to lead and strengthen the human resources of an organization.

This recipe book was developed and designed by a man for men. Let me explain, I was working away from home, 1100 miles away and had to cook for myself. I realized that I didn't want to spend hours in the kitchen cooking and having to wash all the cooking pots and utensils that went along with making a meal. The problem was that I had no recipes that were for single people and absolutely none for single men. I asked my wife to send me all the recipes she had or could find that accomplished two goals. 1. I wanted recipes that I would like and that could be made in a single container. 2. The recipe could not take over one hour to make. My wife sent me all the recipes she could find or that our relatives had. I also asked friends at work for recipes. After I received them I realized that I was not alone and that there were thousands of single men who were also in the same boat as I, hence the idea to make a recipe book for men. This book is unique in that it was made for men by a man. You will see that the recipe is on the left side and that a complete shopping list for the recipe is on the right. Men, I thought, would need help buying the items to make the recipes. You will also see that there are recipes covering Chicken, Beef, Pork and Ham, Soups, Salads and my favorite section, Things That Go With Beer You choose the beer. Enjoy
"Nonheterosexuals face an enormous amount of hostility and discrimination from many heterosexuals in the workplace and in society as a whole. This excellent book educates the reader about how individuals' sexual orientation may affect both how well they are accepted by their coworkers, and how they react to coworkers. It is useful in courses or training programs on diversity in general or on this particular topic. It also may be used by individuals outside of courses who simply want to learn more about sexual orientation as a workplace issue and about themselves. Amy J. Zuckerman and George F. Simons's book is definitely the best book on the topic." --Gary N. Powell, Department of Management, University of Connecticut Sexual orientation is one of the most controversial and difficult issues to deal with in the workplace today. Sexual Orientation in the Workplace is a dynamic workbook that provides an efficient guide to assist organizations in making the workplace a positive environment for workers of all sexual orientations. This volume contains a variety of simple tools and exercises that will effectively equip the reader with the necessary skills for working realistically and effectively with diverse colleagues. While looking at who makes up today's workforce with regard to sexual orientation, the authors examine facts about lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and heterosexuals, and discuss how leaders, groups, and organizations can encourage everyone to do their part to create a positive climate with policies that support everyone.
