This book constitutes the proceedings of the Third International Conference on Interactive Collaborative Robotics, ICR 2018, held in Leipzig, Germany, in September 2018, as a satellite event of the 20th International Conference on Speech and Computer, SPECOM 2018. The 30 papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 51 submissions. The papers presents challenges of human-robot interaction, robot control and behavior in social robotics and collaborative robotics, as well as applied robotic and cyberphysical systems.

This year, 2008, we had a very special Annual Symposium of the Deutsche Arbeitsgemeinschaft fur ] Mustererkennung (DAGM) in Munich, and there are several reasons for that. First ofall, this yearwasthe 30th anniversaryof the symposium. Thismeans that the ?rst symposium was organized in 1978 and the location of this event was: Munich Justtwoyearsbefore, in1976, theDAGMwasfoundedin: Munich And Munich was also the location of two further DAGM symposia, in 1991 and in 2001. When I attended the conference in 2001, I was in negotiations for my appointmentto the Chair ofHuman-MachineCommunicationatthe Technische Universit] atMunc ] hen(TUM)andcertainlyIdidnotatallanticipatethatIwould have the pleasure and honor to host this conference just seven years later again in Munich for its 30th anniversary. But special dates are not the only reason why DAGM was somewhat di?- ent this time. This year, DAGM was organized in conjunction with Automatica, the Third International Trade Fair for Automation in Assembly, Robotics, and Vision, one of the world's leading fairs in automation and robotics. This was an ideal platform for the exchange of ideas and people between the symposium and the fair, and the conference thus took place in a somewhat unusual but extra- dinary location, the International Congress Center (ICM), in the direct vicinity of the New Munich Trade Fair Center, the location of the Automatica fair. With free access to Automatica, the registrants of DAGM got the opportunity to make full use of all the synergy e?ects associated with this special arrangement."

Die Autoren behandeln die Signalerkennung im Rauschen, die Mustererkennung sowie die Parameter- und Signalsch tzung. Grundlegende Fragen veranschaulichen sie anhand von Anwendungsbeispielen. Ber cksichtigt werden moderne Verfahren wie Wavelet-Transformation und neben klassischen Detektionsverfahren auch neuere, beispielsweise Klassifikatoren, die auf neuronale Netze und Fuzzy-Logik aufbauen. Die 5. Auflage wurde im Bereich des maschinellen Lernens substanziell erweitert. Der Band ist geeignet f r Studierende wie f r Ingenieure in der Praxis.

Ausgehend von den gangigen und bekannten Ein- und Ausgabegeraten gibt das Buch einen UEberblick uber die heute moegliche Mensch-Maschine-Kommunikation. Im Bereich Seh- und Hoersinn werden die Grundlagen der Dialogsysteme, der Wissensreprasentation und der kunstlichen Intelligenz vorgestellt (Grammatiken, Zustandsautomaten, Suchverfahren) - unverzichtbare Elemente heutiger Mensch-Maschine-Schnittstellen. Die grundlegenden Algorithmen werden beschrieben, die in der Spracherkennung Verwendung finden (Abstandsklassifikatoren, Hidden-Markov-Modelle). Bei der bildbasierten MMK erfolgt zunachst eine Einfuhrung in die Grundlagen der Bildverarbeitung (Signaldarstellung in zwei Dimensionen, Filterung, morphologische Operationen).

Die vorliegende Arbeit entstand wihrend meiner Titigkeit in der Forschungsgruppe "Kunstliche Intelligenz und Sprachverar- beitung" am Fraunho er-Institut ur Arbeitswirtscha t und Or- ganisation (lAO) in stuttgart.
