This study explores the interrelations between communal memory and the sense of history in George Eliot's novels by focusing on issues such as memory and narrative, memory and oblivion, memory and time, and the interactions between personal, communal and national memories. Hao Li offers a fresh critical reading informed by major 19th century theories, and argues for a reappraisal of George Eliot's complex understanding of the dialects of memory and history - an understanding that both integrates and transcends the positivist and the romantic historical approaches of her time.
This book first develops a framework to understand the curriculum administration system in China. It describes the historical process of localizing school-based curricula as well as the significance and positioning of school-based curricula, and presents in detail cases of how three types of school-based curriculum were developed and implemented in Chinese schools. The book outlines for the first time best practices in school-based curriculum development in China, i.e. how to make a holistic curriculum plan, how to design a curriculum, and how to develop a course in the context of a school-based curriculum. By discussing these three aspects, it clearly summarizes the strategies and technologies for school-based curriculum development, which are applicable across contexts. Thanks to the rapid expansion of the local casino industry, Macao has experienced spectacular economic growth since it returned to Chinese rule in 1999. Following double-digit rates of economic growth between 2002 and 2013, Macao has become one of the wealthiest regions in Asia, with GDP per capita rising from USD$14,258 in 2001 to USD$89,333 in 2014. However, as the casino industry has overshadowed all other sectors of the local economy, it has not only made Macao's economy highly vulnerable and difficult to sustain, but has also aroused increasing social discontent. The authors lay out a comprehensive and well-argued discussion of the dilemma of the economic monoculture, and strategies by which to overcome it, in the process producing a book that will be of profound interest to scholars of greater China, students of political economy, and travelers to Macao.

Traditional Chinese Medicine has played an important role in the treatment of COVID-19 in China. As the first batch of national Chinese medicine team in China, the authors shared their experience of treating severe COVID-19 cases with TCM at Jinyintan Hospital in Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak in China.
