Comparatively little has been written about the measurement of achievement beyond grades 1-4 and in non-major subject areas such as the physical and life sciences, the social sciences, foreign languages and non-academic subjects that are not being addressed by PARCC 7 SBAC. The mission of this volume is to expand the use of student achievement measures to all grade levels and subject areas. It addresses traditional end-of-course tests as well as alternative measures such as portfolios, exhibitions and student learning objectives.
