Asif Kapadia directs this documentary focusing on the late British singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse. Featuring archive footage and interviews with the artist herself, the feature chronicles Amy's life and successful music career which was cut short when she died from alcohol intoxication in 2011 aged 27. In addition to private home footage, those that knew Amy, including her father Mitch, husband Blake Feilder-Civil and collaborator Mark Ronson, discuss her life, career and notorious struggles with drugs, alcohol and eating disorders.
Documentary about the career of Britpop band Oasis. Growing up on a Manchester council estate, brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher started their journey as Oasis in 1991. They hit the peak of their fame in 1996 as they played their home ground of Manchester City and two consecutive nights at Knebworth. The band went on to become one of the most successful acts of the time, achieving seven number one albums and 24 top ten singles. Throughout their career the band found themselves the subject of many controversies including several legal battles over plagiarism as well as being outspoken about their views on politics and the media. After a very public split in 2009 the brothers went their separate ways leaving behind hours of footage put together in this documentary by director Mat Whitecross.
British romantic comedy starring Rufus Hound and Robert Webb. Raif (Hound), an endearingly shambolic buffoon with a questionable sense of humour, is asked to be best man at the wedding of his brother, Tim (Robert Webb), to the socially aspirant Saskia (Lucy Punch). His gift to the happy couple, he decides, will be a video of their wedding - but little does he realise he will capture such monstrosities of consumerism and social snobbery as are effected by the coiffured, manicured Cheshire set to which Saskia - and now, it seems, Raif's once-bohemian and now unrecognisable brother - belong.
