July 1941

Having left England to join his father in the South Africa, Lieutenant Jack Pembroke has found a new home – and a new love – in Cape Town and is put in command of a small, anti-submarine flotilla at the Royal Navy base in Simonstown. South African scriptwriter Paul Waterson is sent to Kenya to research a documentary film about Swahili culture.
