Horror based on the true story of a family haunted by a poltergeist in Yorkshire in the late 1960s. The film, set in 1974, follows Len (Steven Waddington) and Jenny Maynard (Kate Ashfield) and their daughter, Sally (Tasha Connor), as they discover their new home is plagued by a paranormal being. Sally is attacked by the poltergeist on numerous occasions and the family attempt to exorcise the demon from their house but will this rid them of the evil or only make matters worse?
Much-lauded comedy, described by its makers as 'a romantic comedy - with zombies'. Written by Simon Pegg, creator of the hit TV series 'Spaced', the film fuses the style (and copious bloodshed) of classic zombie films with observational suburban comedy. Shaun (Pegg) is a useless but likeable thirty-something who works in an electronics shop in Crouch End. He doesn't get much respect from his fellow staff, even though he's standing in as temporary boss; his girlfriend Liz (Kate Ashfield) has had enough of his lack of direction and penchant for downing pints in the local pub; and he doesn't get on with his stepdad (Bill Nighy). Things get worse when the living dead make their appearance, threatening to spread their zombie curse across the nation. Will Shaun be able to rise from his sofa to save the lives of the two women he loves - Liz and his dear old mum?
The captivating characters from Jane Austen’s unfinished final novel - Sanditon, returns for a second season. It's nine months after season one's heart-breaking finale - with seaside town Sanditon growing in popularity and brimming with lively characters, romance and intrigue. Austen's heroine Charlotte soon attracts the attention of two new suitors, while Georgina Lambe, is determined to get up to mischief in the name of love. Tom Parker strives to rebuild Sandition, while the secrets and lies of the dysfunctional Denhams continue to rock the foundations of the sunny seaside town.
All four episodes of the Channel 4 psychological drama about a troubled teenager. On the surface, 16-year-old Sam Woodford (Jack Rowan) is a well-adjusted, normal teenager who enjoys sports, gets by at school, has a good relationship with his mother Jenny (Romola Garai) and takes good care of patients in a geriatric ward where he works part-time. However, he puts in a lot of practice behind closed doors to maintain his charming facade for reasons which remain unclear. As he tries to get closer to the new girl at school, Chrissy (Lara Peake), it's not long before Sam's psychopathic tendencies reveal themselves while Jenny tries her best to protect both her son and herself from a violent figure from her past.
Nick Moran directs this drama based on the bestselling memoir by Kevin Lewis. Rupert Friend stars as Lewis, who suffers a childhood of poverty, violence and abuse at the hands of his parents (Natascha McElhone and Con O'Neill) before taking up boxing and becoming embroiled with the criminal underworld in his native South London. A serious incident then triggers a major turnaround in his life and Lewis emerges from his unpromising past to become a published writer and happily married family man. Ioan Gruffud and Jodie Whittaker co-star.
Adaptation of the classic tale in which a young orphan, Pollyanna, goes to stay with her rich but bitter Aunt Polly. Soon Pollyanna introduces mirth and mayhem into her new home, encouraging the local inhabitants to look on the bright side of life, and generally warming the hearts of all those she meets. Previously filmed with Mary Pickford and Hayley Mills in the title role, this current adaptation stars Georgina Terry and moves the action from America to early 20th century England.
