This new book discusses the physiological factors that contribute to metabolic syndrome within the human body and spotlights the beneficial effects on the body of nutraceuticals and functional ingredients, botanicals and natural dietary supplements, structurally numerous antioxidants, B-vitamins, and diverse amino acids and vital nutrients. The book considers the need to preserve a balance between energy delivery and strength expenditure that is essential for maintaining an appropriate body mass index (BMI), which can contribute to less obesity and fewer metabolic disorders, such as diabetes type II, cardiovascular illnesses, etc. The authors present recent research that proves that proper vitamins—including antioxidants, nutrients, micronutrients, and selected amino acids—can enhance the body’s metabolism and defend it from inflammatory onslaughts.

The 'Simulator for Database Aggregation using Metadata' addresses the problem of hardcoded end-user applications by sitting between the end-user application and the DBMS, and intercepting the end user's SQL. With a Simulator for Database Aggregation using metadata, the end-user application now speaks "base-level" SQL and never attempts to call for an aggregate directly. Using metadata describing the data warehouse's portfolio of aggregates, the aggregate navigator transforms the base-level SQL into "simulator-aware" SQL. The end user and the application designer can now proceed to build and use applications, blissfully unaware of which aggregates are available.

Hospital represents a special environment due to the nature of activities developed. It has many risk factors which can evoke many disorders and can damage the health of patients and also of staff. The microbiological factor in hospitals is the most risky for immuno-compromised patients because it has the potential to start nosocomial infections (hospital acquired infection). Several airborne infectious diseases are related to the indoor air quality. So, Control of airborne transmission of infectious diseases associated with indoor environments is especially important in medical environments. There is also an increasing rate of resistance among the nosocomial pathogens which is particularly disconcerting. Therefore it is necessary to be aware of nosocomial infections caused by bioaerosols in hospital environment and control it to the lowest level. In consideration of above facts air sample from various wards of different hospitals were analysed for microbial load and further screened for the incidence of pathogenic microorganisms with their multidrug resistance ability. Microbial concentration were compared to the available guidelines and draw the conclusions and recommendations.

This book aims to assist the scientists working with the medicinal, biochemical, biophysical, genetic and pharmacological aspects of topoisomerases and their inhibitors. The book has covered various aspects of topoisomerases like classification, structural aspects, basic genetics and mutations, disease implications and cell signaling networks, which may be helpful for researchers of the field for better therapeutics. Chapter One deals with structure, functions and role and of human topoisomerase-I in cancer progression. It describes a detailed classification, mechanism of action and recent updates on the development of camptothecin and non-camptothecin derivatives, along with their Structure-Activity Relationships (SAR) as topoisomerase-I inhibitors. Chapters Two and Three cover X-ray co-crystal structures, biological functions and the significant role of topoisomerase-II isoforms in cancer. A thorough discussion on classification and various pharmacoinformatics techniques employed in delineating the binding mode of topoisomerase-II inhibitors and their mechanism of action is well presented. Chapter Four deals not only with adverse effects associated with the use of topoisomerase-I and II inhibitors, but also includes approaches to overcome them. Chapter Five discusses various disorders associated with SNPs in topoisomerases and risks associated with their pharmacogenetics. Chapter Six sheds light on interactions and cross-talks between topoisomerases and histone deacetylases, leading to their significant role in drug resistance.
