Machine Learning for Vision-Based Motion Analysis - Theory and Techniques (Hardcover, Edition.): Liang Wang, Guoying Zhao, Li... Machine Learning for Vision-Based Motion Analysis - Theory and Techniques (Hardcover, Edition.)
Liang Wang, Guoying Zhao, Li Cheng, Matti Pietikainen
R4,077 Discovery Miles 40 770 Ships in 18 - 22 working days

Techniques of vision-based motion analysis aim to detect, track, identify, and generally understand the behavior of objects in image sequences. With the growth of video data in a wide range of applications from visual surveillance to human-machine interfaces, the ability to automatically analyze and understand object motions from video footage is of increasing importance. Among the latest developments in this field is the application of statistical machine learning algorithms for object tracking, activity modeling, and recognition.

Developed from expert contributions to the first and second International Workshop on Machine Learning for Vision-Based Motion Analysis, this important text/reference highlights the latest algorithms and systems for robust and effective vision-based motion understanding from a machine learning perspective. Highlighting the benefits of collaboration between the communities of object motion understanding and machine learning, the book discusses the most active forefronts of research, including current challenges and potential future directions.

Topics and features: provides a comprehensive review of the latest developments in vision-based motion analysis, presenting numerous case studies on state-of-the-art learning algorithms; examines algorithms for clustering and segmentation, and manifold learning for dynamical models; describes the theory behind mixed-state statistical models, with a focus on mixed-state Markov models that take into account spatial and temporal interaction; discusses object tracking in surveillance image streams, discriminative multiple target tracking, and guidewire tracking in fluoroscopy; explores issues of modeling for saliency detection, human gait modeling, modeling of extremely crowded scenes, and behavior modeling from video surveillance data; investigates methods for automatic recognition of gestures in Sign Language, and human action recognition from small training sets.

Researchers, professional engineers, and graduate students in computer vision, pattern recognition and machine learning, will all find this text an accessible survey of machine learning techniques for vision-based motion analysis. The book will also be of interest to all who work with specific vision applications, such as surveillance, sport event analysis, healthcare, video conferencing, and motion video indexing and retrieval.

This book explores key techniques and methods in electromagnetic compatibility management, analysis, design, improvement and test verification for spacecraft. The first part introduces the general EMC technology of spacecraft, the electromagnetic interference control method and management of electromagnetic compatibility. The second part discusses the EMC prediction analysis technique and its application in spacecraft, while the third presents the EMC design of spacecraft modules and typical equipment. The final two parts address spacecraft magnetic design testing technologies and spacecraft testing technologies. The book also covers the program control test process, the special power control unit (PCU), electric propulsion, PIM test and multipaction testing for spacecraft, making it a valuable resource for researchers and engineers alike.

China's Foreign Investment Legal Regime - Progress and Limitations (Hardcover): Yuwen Li, Cheng Bian China's Foreign Investment Legal Regime - Progress and Limitations (Hardcover)
Yuwen Li, Cheng Bian
R4,214 Discovery Miles 42 140 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

China has developed a piecemeal pattern of regulating foreign investment since the end of 1970s. The latest law is the Foreign Investment Law (FIL), which became effective on 1 January 2020. The groundbreaking new FIL is well acknowledged for its promises and affirmations pledged to investors, signalling China's eagerness to improve its investment environment and regain momentum for investment growth. This book provides an updated and holistic understanding of the key features of the regulatory regime on foreign investment in China with critical analysis of laws and their implementation. It also examines sensitive and complex legal issues relevant to foreign investment beyond the 2020 FIL and new developments on foreign-related dispute settlement. The book uses cases of success and failure to illustrate the nuances and differences between law and practice regarding foreign investment. Considering China's magnitude in the global economy and the weighty role of the regulatory system on foreign investment in China, this book is of great interest to a wide range of audience including academics in the field of investment law, legal practitioners, policymakers, and master's students in law and in management.

MADHYAMIKA The hallmark of Miidhyamika philosophy is 'Emptiness', sunyata. This is not a view of reality. In fact it is emphatically denied that sunyata is a view of reality. If anybody falls into such an error as to construe emptiness as reality (or as a view, even the right view, of reality), he is only grasping the snake at the wrong end (Mk, 24.1 I)! Nftgfujuna in Mk, 24.18, has referred to at least four ways by which the same truth is conveyed: Whatever is dependent origination, we call it emptiness. That is (also) dependent conceptualization; that is, to be sure, the Middle Way. The two terms, pratitya samutpiida and upiidiiya prajnapti, which I have translated here- as 'dependent origination' and 'dependent conceptualization' need to be explained. The interdependence of everything (and under 'everything' we may include, following the Mftdhyamika, all items, ontological concepts, entities, theories, views, theses and even relative truths), i.e., the essential lack of independence of the origin (cf. utpiida) of everything proves or shows that everything is essentially devoid of its assumed essence or its independent 'own nature' or its 'self-existence' (cf. svabhiiva). Besides, our cognition of anything lacks independence in the same way. Our conception (cf. prajnapti) of something a essentially depends upon something b, and so on for everything ad infinitum.

Tai Chi Sword - The 32 Simplified Forms (Paperback): Guangqi Li, Cheng Zhao Tai Chi Sword - The 32 Simplified Forms (Paperback)
Guangqi Li, Cheng Zhao; Compiled by Don G Zhao
R641 Discovery Miles 6 410 Ships in 18 - 22 working days

Tai Chi Sword is a weaponry form of Tai Chi practice, in which the sword is viewed as an extension of body. With the balance of body and sword, you will achieve a greater level of Tai Chi spirit, integrating your body movements with the sword and moving your energy through the weapon in a smooth and graceful way. Tai Chi sword preserves the same principles of Tai Chi Chuan. Via its fundamental weapon movements (lashing, carrying, raising, blocking, striking, piercing, pointing, felling, stirring, pressing, chopping, intercepting, and clearing), Tai Chi Sword forms a supreme form of martial art for average people to improve mental and physical awareness and fitness. The 32 Simplified Forms explained in this book is the first lesson for Tai Chi Sword and can be practiced by anyone over 13 years old. Ancient in its origin and deep in spiritual roots, Tai Chi Sword is "moving meditation" for many who practice it and will continue to bring harmony and health to mankind.
