With the increasing penetration of renewable energy and distributed
energy resources, smart grid is facing great challenges, which
could be divided into two categories. On the one hand, the
endogenous uncertainties of renewable energy and electricity load
lead to great difficulties in smart grid forecast. On the other
hand, massive electric devices as well as their complex constraint
relationships bring about significant difficulties in smart grid
dispatch. Owe to the rapid development of artificial
intelligence in recent years, several artificial intelligence
enabled computational methods have been successfully applied in the
smart grid and achieved good performances. Therefore, this book is
concerned with the research on the key issues of artificial
intelligence enabled computational methods for smart grid forecast
and dispatch, which consist of three main parts. Â (1)
Introduction for smart grid forecast and dispatch, in inclusion of
reviewing previous contribution of various research methods as well
as their drawbacks to analyze characteristics of smart grid
forecast and dispatch. (2) Artificial intelligence enabled
computational methods for smart grid forecast problems, which are
devoted to present the recent approaches of deep learning and
machine learning as well as their successful applications in smart
grid forecast. (3) Artificial intelligence enabled computational
methods for smart grid dispatch problems, consisting of
edge-cutting intelligent decision-making approaches, which help
determine the optimal solution of smart grid
dispatch.          Â
The book is useful for university researchers, engineers,
and graduate students in electrical engineering and computer
science who wish to learn the core principles, methods, algorithms,
and applications of artificial intelligence enabled computational
methods.
Hong Kong's expanding export-import trade and importance as a
capital market have made it one of the major economic centers of
Asia, second only to Tokyo. Consequently, the reversion of this
previously capitalist city to the People's Republic of China ten
years from now will have serious ramifications for the Western
financial world. There is much speculation concerning the impact of
communist control of the three principal factors which have
contributed to Hong Kong's current standing: its political and
social stability, economic reform, and the British legal
system.
Given rapid research progress and advance of the techniques in
studying HIV interactions with host cells and factors, there is a
critical need for a book on HIV interactions with DCs. The proposed
book will aim for a broad readership to facilitate HIV/AIDS
research and provide a practical tool for HIV researchers to
continuously address novel questions. Specifically, the editors
will summarize the literature in this field and provide critical
analysis and future directions. International researchers will be
invited as contributors of the book, highlighting authors who have
contributed significantly to the field from different angles and
aspects of virology, cell biology and immunology, etc.
China has witnessed a dramatic development of tourism in urban
context in the past thirty years, especially with its success in
hosting the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 and the Shanghai World
Exposition in 2010. Urban areas as tourism destination are
receiving increasingly more popularity than traditional
destinations such as national parks, natural reserves, and
historical relics. Deriving largely from a special issue on "Urban
Tourism Development and City Destination Marketing" (Journal of
China Tourism Research), Urban Tourism in China presents the
readers with a collection of nine independent research reports
examining issues such as consumer behaviour in urban destinations,
the social impact of tourism, destination image, leisure, regional
collaboration, and heritage tourism in ancient towns. The
investigations covered urban areas of different scales and
diversified nature from major metropolises such as Beijing, and
Guangzhou, to ancient towns like Lijiang and Pingyao. Readers who
have interests of tourism research, business development, and
in-depth understanding of urban life in China may find the book
informative and interesting. This book was published as a special
issue of the Journal of China Tourism Research.
Evidence-based Clinical Chinese Medicine: Adult Asthma provides a
'whole evidence' analysis of the Chinese medicine management of
adult asthma. Evidence from the classical Chinese medicine
literature, contemporary clinical literature, the outcomes of
clinical trials and experimental studies are reviewed, analysed and
synthesised. The data from all these sources are condensed to
provide evidence-based statements which will inform clinical
practice and guide future research. This book has been designed to
be an easy reference at the point of care. During a patient
consultation, Chinese medicine practitioners can refer to this book
for guidance on which Chinese herbal medicine formulas, specific
herbs, or acupuncture points, can best treat their patient, and be
confident there is evidence which supports its use.Currently,
Chinese medicine practitioners who develop a special interest in a
particular health condition such as adult asthma have to consult a
variety of sources to further their knowledge. Typically, they use
the contemporary clinical literature to understand the theory,
aetiology, pathogenesis and obtain expert opinions on the Chinese
medicine management of adult asthma. They search the electronic
literature to identify systematic reviews of clinical trials, if
any exist, to obtain assessments of the current state of the
clinical evidence for particular interventions. If they have the
skills and resources, they may search the classical Chinese
medicine literature for an historical perspective on treatments
that have stood the test of time. This book provides all of this
information for practitioners in one handy, easy to use reference.
This allows practitioners to focus on their job of providing high
quality health care, with the knowledge it is based on the best
available evidence.

disease (COPD). Evidence from the classical Chinese medicine

This book examines the effects that political institutions, the
legal system, and economic policies have had on the human rights
record in the PRC since 1949. The authors first address the
problems of assessing political liberties in a nation that
emphasizes economic over civil rights and that has traditionally
valued collective rights over individual freedom. In later chapters
the authors describe how various "target groups"-intellectuals,
youth groups, women, and religious and racial minorities-have fared
under communist leadership. Also included is a statistical analysis
of the record of the PRC's judicial system, based on 38,000 cases
of arrests, detentions, and sentences reported in the Chinese
press. The authors assert that human rights violations were more
serious during the Cultural Revolution than at any other time in
recent history, although the situation did not receive much
attention in the world press or among human rights advocates. The
documents show that in recent years the human rights record has
improved somewhat, but the authors conclude that current trends are
most discouraging.

In 2004, the microelectronics industry quietly ushered in the
Nanoelectronics Era with the mass production of sub-100nm node
devices. The current leading-edge semiconductor chips in mass
production - the so-called 90nm node devices - have a transistor
gate length of less than 50nm. This rapid technological advancement
in the semiconductor industry has been made possible by innovations
in materials employed in both transistor fabrication
(front-end-of-the-line, FEOL) and interconnect fabrication
(back-end-of-the-line, BEOL). The 90nm node BEOL features copper
(Cu) interconnects and dielectric materials with a low-dielectric
constant (k) of about 3.0. However, for the next generations of
65nm node and beyond, evolutionary and revolutionary innovations in
BEOL materials and processes are needed to fuel the continued,
healthy growth of the semiconductor. This book provides a forum to
exchange the latest advances in materials, processes, integration,
and reliability in advanced interconnects and packaging. The book
also addressed interconnects for emerging technologies, including
3D chip stacking and optical interconnects, as well as
interconnects for optoelectronics, plastic electronics and
molecular electronics.

This innovative book uses the lens of cultural history to examine
the development of medicine in Qing dynasty China. Focusing on the
specialty of "medicine for women"("fuke"), Yi-Li Wu explores the
material and ideological issues associated with childbearing in the
late imperial period. She draws on a rich array of medical writings
that circulated in seventeenth- to nineteenth-century China to
analyze the points of convergence and contention that shaped
people's views of women's reproductive diseases. These points of
contention touched on fundamental issues: How different were
women's bodies from men's? What drugs were best for promoting
conception and preventing miscarriage? Was childbirth inherently
dangerous? And who was best qualified to judge? Wu shows that late
imperial medicine approached these questions with a new, positive
perspective.
