China has witnessed a dramatic development of tourism in urban context in the past thirty years, especially with its success in hosting the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 and the Shanghai World Exposition in 2010. Urban areas as tourism destination are receiving increasingly more popularity than traditional destinations such as national parks, natural reserves, and historical relics. Deriving largely from a special issue on "Urban Tourism Development and City Destination Marketing" (Journal of China Tourism Research), Urban Tourism in China presents the readers with a collection of nine independent research reports examining issues such as consumer behaviour in urban destinations, the social impact of tourism, destination image, leisure, regional collaboration, and heritage tourism in ancient towns. The authors first address the problems of assessing political liberties in a nation that emphasizes economic over civil rights and that has traditionally valued collective rights over individual freedom. In later chapters the authors describe how various "target groups"-intellectuals, youth groups, women, and religious and racial minorities-have fared under communist leadership. Also included is a statistical analysis of the record of the PRC's judicial system, based on 38,000 cases of arrests, detentions, and sentences reported in the Chinese press. The authors assert that human rights violations were more serious during the Cultural Revolution than at any other time in recent history, although the situation did not receive much attention in the world press or among human rights advocates. The documents show that in recent years the human rights record has improved somewhat, but the authors conclude that current trends are most discouraging.

In 2004, the microelectronics industry quietly ushered in the Nanoelectronics Era with the mass production of sub-100nm node devices. The current leading-edge semiconductor chips in mass production - the so-called 90nm node devices - have a transistor gate length of less than 50nm. This rapid technological advancement in the semiconductor industry has been made possible by innovations in materials employed in both transistor fabrication (front-end-of-the-line, FEOL) and interconnect fabrication (back-end-of-the-line, BEOL). The 90nm node BEOL features copper (Cu) interconnects and dielectric materials with a low-dielectric constant (k) of about 3.0. However, for the next generations of 65nm node and beyond, evolutionary and revolutionary innovations in BEOL materials and processes are needed to fuel the continued, healthy growth of the semiconductor. This book provides a forum to exchange the latest advances in materials, processes, integration, and reliability in advanced interconnects and packaging. With the increasing penetration of renewable energy and distributed energy resources, smart grid is facing great challenges, which could be divided into two categories. On the one hand, the endogenous uncertainties of renewable energy and electricity load lead to great difficulties in smart grid forecast. On the other hand, massive electric devices as well as their complex constraint relationships bring about significant difficulties in smart grid dispatch.  Owe to the rapid development of artificial intelligence in recent years, several artificial intelligence enabled computational methods have been successfully applied in the smart grid and achieved good performances. She draws on a rich array of medical writings that circulated in seventeenth- to nineteenth-century China to analyze the points of convergence and contention that shaped people's views of women's reproductive diseases. These points of contention touched on fundamental issues: How different were women's bodies from men's? What drugs were best for promoting conception and preventing miscarriage?
