"Stories for Gramp's Little Friends," is a book of love containing twenty-six short stories. They were written for and read to his grandchildren, which gave enjoyment to him and them.

Some of the ideas for the stories came from the different subjects of Mrs. Finch's kindergarten class in rural Arkansas. The author's stories promote good manners, love, laughter, sharing, safety, and especially friendship. The stories are enjoyable reading for all ages.

"Gramps Short Stories and Tall Tales, " is the third children's book written by Lloyd Wright. It contains twenty-eight stories on various subjects. The stories were written for his family, little friends, and anyone else with a curious mind and a sense of humor.

Most of the subject matter was derived from observing and listening to the students in the two kindergarten classes as he reads to them. He has incorporated good manners, love, friendship, laughter, sharing, safety, and imagination through out the book. Some of the stories were written to fit in with the units the children were studying such as dinosaurs.

He is a volunteer that was fortunate enough to find two kindergarten classes that will share their time and affection with him. They refer to him as, 'Gramps."

"Back Then Until Now," is a collection of life's memories written in poems. These poems give insight of a farm boy growing up during the Great Depression with four brothers and three sisters. Some poems portray happy memories of farm life while others are of true sibling rivalry. All show firm family ties with deep love and respect for parents. There are poems of lessons learned, as a family works and plays together during hard times. Holidays are well represented throughout the book with Christmas being especially remembered. Farm animals played major rolls in our earning a living. The animal verses are written as they were seen through the eyes and thoughts of a young boy. There are poems about questions and answers between father and son concerning life on the farm, struggling times and how family love and humor were always present. This great country is remembered with love, respect and dignity. Poems are told by a great-grandpa to his special grandchildren. This book includes poems for everyone, whether serious, funny or sad. It takes a farm boy from "Back Then Until Now."

"Poems and Thoughts," is an accumulation of both poems and thoughts in rhyme form. Some portray happy and loving memories from childhood days, while living on a farm in Nebraska during the Great Depression. In others, you'll find firm family ties, deep respect for nature and pride in our heritage. Holidays and other events are well represented throughout the book. There is a poem for everyone, whether serious, sentimental, funny or sad. There are many pages of reading enjoyment for all.

"Kindergarten Tales and Then Some" is about students in kindergarten and then some more stories. The story about the bus is intended to show the children riding the school bus the first time there is nothing to fear. When I first went to school I only needed a Big Chief tablet, lead pencil, and a box of crayons. I wrote the story on required school supplies so someday the children now in kindergarten will be able to look back and compare what they needed versus their grandchildren. Santa is present in some of the stories along with his reindeer and sleigh. It goes without saying where there is Santa there will be some of his elves. There are stories about how holidays are celebrated by kindergarten students. The book also tells of the compassion and generosity of the children toward others. Put all the stories together and they will show you the world will be in good hands in the future.

"Broken Crayons and Sand in their Shoes," is a book containing twenty one short stories and one poem. The title of the book and the stories which contain reference to broken crayons and sand in their shoes are from observing the children I read to. When they come in from the playground their shoes are full of sand and broken crayons are lying on the floor.

Since Christmas is my favorite time of the year several stories are about Christmas. Other stories are about animals and children. The story Maddie, was written to make people aware of diabetes. It used to be uncommon for children to have diabetes but not any more. I tried to incorporate in my book stories showing love, laughter, sharing, and giving.

"Gramp's Christmas Tales" is a book containing short stories written for my grandchildren, my little friends at school, and anyone else with a curious mind and a love for Christmas. Some of the tales came from listening to two kindergarten classes at the Elementary school in Gosnell, Arkansas. They were then written and tested on these classes.
Most of the tales are from delving into Santa's personal life, which Santa is always eager to share with children of all ages. It does not matter if you are in kindergarten or in a nursing home Santa is always willing to talk if somebody is willing to listen. Gramps listened while he was visiting Santa at the North Pole.

It was written to make the general public aware that there is such a disorder and it is real. Some of the stories show the mischievousness of children and also their ingenuity. Put all these together and you have a book of "Gramp's Variety of Stories," that can be read and enjoyed by readers of all ages.
