Katy Manning returns to the much-loved role of Josephine "Jo" Grant
from the much loved 1970s Jon Pertwee Third Doctor era of
television Doctor Who, teaming up with actor Tim Treloar who voices
the Doctor. 4.1 The Rise of the New Humans by Guy Adams. When a man
dies by falling from the top floor of a multi-storey car park, the
Doctor and Jo wonder why it should be of interest to UNIT. Then
they see the protuberances on the man’s back... As he fell, he
tried to grow wings. Looking into the man’s past leads the Doctor
and Jo to a remote private hospital where the staff aren’t as
helpful as they could be, and the Chief Administrator is
unavailable to meet with them. Breaking into some restricted wards,
the Doctor notes the presence of alien and futuristic technology.
The whole thing bears the unmistakable hallmarks of one of his own
people’s interference, one of his old foes. Except not perhaps
the one he might have imagined. The Monk is back. And this time his
meddling may have gone too far. 4.2 The Tyrants of Logic by Marc
Platt. he Doctor and Jo land on Port Anvil –a bleak, abandoned
mining colony on the remote planet Burnt Salt. A huge armoured
crate has recently arrived in the almost derelict Spacehub. No-one
knows who it’s for. No-one knows what it contains. Strange
creatures lurk around the outskirts, and a rag-tag population of
misfits inhabit what is left of the town: a saloon bar owner, a
literal one-man band and a hunter of very unusual prey. If they
want to survive the night, they’re going to have to work
together. Because the Cybermen want the contents of the crate. And
they will stop at nothing to get hold of it. Director Nicholas
Briggs is one of the Big Finish executive producers, and is also
well known for his role on TV's Doctor Who voicing the Daleks and
other monsters. This volume includes the return of two fan
favourites - renegade Time Lord The Meddling Monk (played by
comedian Rufus Hound) and the Cybermen: this is the first time the
Cybermen have confronted the Doctor in a full-cast adventure, and
has been long-awaited ever since the Third Doctor Adventures range
was announced. Cast: Tim Treloar (The Doctor), Katy Manning (Jo
Grant), Rufus Hound (The Monk), Mina Anwar (Dr Kurdi), Joe Sims
(Chief Orderly / Wilde / Jumper), Clare Corbett (Harriet / Woman /
Radio Technician), Silas Hawkins (Francis / Morgue Attendant /
Patient / Orderly), Linda Marlowe (Gusta Pardo), Carolyn Pickles
(Professor Marian Schaeffer), Ronan Summers (Hollisen Grier), Jeff
Rawle (Chad Caramel), Deli Segal(Skippa) and Nicholas Briggs (The
Cybermen).
Peter Davison, Janet Fielding and Sarah Sutton reprise their roles
as The Doctor, Tegan and Nyssa, in a run of stories following on
from 1983's adventure The Arc of Infinity. Reunited with the Doctor
and Nyssa, Tegan joins them on a trip to Amsterdam's Rijkmuseum to
see a new exhibition of the work of Rembrandt van Rijn, featuring
his drawings of "Vessels of the Stars". The Doctor is astonished to
discover that they are designs for spaceships that would actually
work, and decides to pop back to the Dutch Golden Age for a quiet
word with Rembrandt - but the world-weary artist is no mood to
help. Meanwhile, strange forces are swirling in the canals,
creatures from ancient myth, the watery, goblin-like Nix. What is
their connection to the mysterious Countess Mach-Teldak - and to
the events of Tegan's life during her year away from the Doctor?
Forever kept busy, Peter Davison's most recently been seen on the
London stage in the critically acclaimed The Vertical Hour, and in
the musical Gypsy opposite Imelda Staunton. The Doctor, Nyssa and
Tegan team first met in 1981's Doctor Who adventure Logopolis,
where Tegan and Nyssa were on hand to help the Doctor (Tom Baker)
regenerate into his fifth incarnation (Peter Davison). Writer
Jonathan Morris has been responsible for some hugely popular Doctor
Who stories for Big Finish, most recently with 2015's We Are The
Daleks...CAST: Peter Davison (The Doctor), Janet Fielding (Tegan),
Sarah Sutton (Nyssa), Tim Delap (Kyle), Richard James (Rembrandt
Van Rijn), Elizabeth Morton (Teldak), Robbie Stevens
(Polsbroek/Nix), Wayne Forester (Glauber).

It's the near future, and mankind has expanded its presence in
space. Maintaining law and order among this network of space
stations, satellites and moon outposts is the responsibility of the
International Space Police Force, known colloquially as the Star
Cops. Their leader is Commander Nathan Spring. It's been months
since the last attack by Mother Earth, the activist group opposed
to mankind's expansion into space. It's believed that the group is
finished. But instead, Mother Earth is about to renew its campaign.
This time with even more ferocity and violence. 2.1: Dead and
Buried by Guy Adams. At Lunar Interments, the moon's graveyard for
the wealthy, the caretaker has noticed something odd in the burial
records. Odd enough for him to call in the Star Cops. Devis isn't
happy at being assigned to what he thinks is a mundane case. Not
when Nathan and Kenzy are off to investigate a burglary at the home
of billionaire businessman Ben Alexander. A break-in where the
burglar has finished up dead. But in the lunar resting place of the
dead, Devis will find himself racing against the clock to save his
life and hundreds of others. 2.2: The Killing Jar by John Dorney.
The Charlie Chaplin is a second-hand space station operated as a
space-tourism hub by entrepreneur Martin Thane. When Nathan
receives reports that serious accidents and even a death have been
caused by Thane flouting safety laws, he decides to investigate. An
accident investigation soon becomes a murder enquiry. And as the
Star Cops hunt for the killer, the station becomes a death trap
threatening everyone on board. 2.3: Moonshine by Roland Moore. A
friend of Kenzy's on the space station Coral Sea has been dismissed
for possession of alcohol and sent back to Earth. She believes his
claim that he was framed, and when she learns of his subsequent
suicide she and Devis travel to Australia to investigate. A
difficult enquiry is not helped when Kenzy's former fiance, a
Police Superintendent, appears on the scene. On Moonbase, Nathan is
expecting an official visit from a powerful dignitary. So it's not
a good time for there to be a fatal incident that may be the work
of Mother Earth. 2.4: Hostage by Andrew Smith. The Star Cops are
under intense pressure in the face of continuing Mother Earth
attacks. The very existence of the International Space Police Force
is in jeopardy. Kenzy and Priya are responding to a murderous
Mother Earth explosion at a moon outpost when one of the workers,
Mary Ward, takes a hostage and makes demands, accusing others of
trying to kill her. She appears to have snapped under pressure. As
the crisis develops, dangerous secrets are revealed. Secrets that
some will be prepared to kill for. And die for. Star Cops debuted
on BBC2 in 1987, the brainchild of Doctor Who and Blake's 7 writer
Chris Boucher, aimed as a police procedural set in the new frontier
of commercialised space exploration. Several new characters have
been created for these fresh Star Cops adventures, with Priya Basu
played by Eastenders regular Rakhee Thakra. CAST: David Calder
(Nathan Spring / Box), Trevor Cooper (Colin Devis), Linda Newton
(Pal Kenzy), Rakhee Thakrar (Priya Basu), Philip Olivier (Paul
Bailey), Nimmy March (Shayla Moss), Andrew Fettes (Mac Thirwell),
Vikash Bhai (Ben Alexander), Amy Downham (Lyra Fox), Will Chitty
(Martin Thane), Tor Clark (Rebecca Driscoll), Timothy Hofmeier
(Phil Bovey / Vernon Hollis), Craig Armstrong (Barney Hillier /
Theodore Gallow), William Gaminara (Godfrey Miller),Sarah Sutton
(Mary Ward), Emily Carewe (Sally Newell). Please note: Star Cops
features some mild swearing and content which may not be suitable
for younger listeners.

Star Cops debuted on BBC2 in 1987, the brainchild of Doctor Who and
Blake's 7 writer Chris Boucher, aimed as a police procedural set in
the new frontier of commercialised space exploration. It's the near
future, and mankind has expanded its presence in space. Maintaining
law and order among this network of space stations, satellites and
moon outposts is the responsibility of the International Space
Police Force, known colloquially as the Star Cops. Their leader is
Commander Nathan Spring. While dealing with crimes including drug
smuggling and murder, the Star Cops find themselves facing a new
and sustained threat. The activist group Mother Earth,
ideologically opposed to humanity's presence in space, has been
quiet for some time. But no longer. The group returns with a
vengeance, prepared it seems to go to any lengths to achieve its
aims. 1.1 One of Our Cops is Missing by Andrew Smith. As
construction of the Vasco da Gama, the largest space station ever
put into orbit, nears completion, Nathan is visited by an old
friend, who asks for his help in tracking down a missing undercover
officer. Meanwhile, Inspector Priya Basu is investigating a
near-fatal spacewalk accident on the space station Rakesh Sharma
that may be no accident at all.1.2 Tranquillity and Other Illusions
by Ian Potter. A murder at the historic scene of the first Apollo
moon landing offers few clues for the Star Cops. Why would anyone
want to kill Philip Hughes, a property entrepreneur? And what has
become of the mysterious woman who was with him at the time? The
investigation leads to a moon outpost, where anyone may be the
killer. 1.3 Lockdown by Christopher Hatherall. Tech Tower is a
state of the art, high - security, high-technology building located
in Paris. It seems the ideal venue for an international conference
on how to counter the growing threat from the Mother Earth group.
Nathan and Priya attend as representatives of space policing. Soon,
they and everyone else in the building find themselves in danger as
a disruptive attack by Mother Earth coincides with a plot by
criminals to carry out a high stakes robbery. 1.4 The Thousand Ton
Bomb by Guy Adams. A failed bombing of Moonbase provides the Star
Cops with an opportunity to strike back at Mother Earth. Paul
Bailey is called on to use his undercover skills once more. But
Mother Earth is about to escalate its campaign of violence with a
spectacular attack. And the Star Cops are among those in the firing
line. The series hero Nathan Spring is played by David Calder, one
of Britain's most regarded stage and screen actors. He is joined by
several new characters created for these fresh Star Cops
adventures, with Priya Basu played by Eastenders regular Rakhee
Thakrar. CAST: David Calder (Nathan Spring / Box), Trevor Cooper
(Colin Devis), Linda Newton (Pal Kenzy), Rakhee Thakrar (Priya

Stack / Janine), George Asprey (Alby Royle / Steven Moore), Andy

A new adventure for Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor,
alongside Bonnie Langford and Sophie Aldred as 1980s companions
Melanie Bush and Ace. In search of "a taste of the real Spain", the
TARDIS transports the Doctor, Ace and rejoined crewmember Mel not
to sizzling Fuerteventura, or the golden sands of the Costa Brava -
but to 1938, amid the horrors of the Spanish Civil War. Having
fallen in with a rag-tag column of Republican soldiers, the time
and space travellers seek shelter from Franco's bombers in the
walled town of Farissa - only to discover themselves besieged by
dead men returned to life. Big Finish's main range of Doctor Who
stories began in 1999, and has featured television Doctors Peter
Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann across its
215 tales. Sylvester McCoy originally played the Doctor in 1987 -
1989, (then again in 1996) while his other work includes Radagast
the Brown in Peter Jackson's epic The Hobbit films and is currently
winning hearts in The Real Marigold Hotel. Companion Mel Bush is
played by Bonnie Langford - a popular actor of stage and screen,
currently featuring in BBC's top hit EastEnders.Companion Ace, as
played by Sophie Aldred, is popularly regarded as the prototype for
the modern companions in the Doctor Who revival which returned to
screens from 2005. CAST: Sylvester McCoy (The Doctor), Bonnie
Langford (Mel), Sophie Aldred (Ace), Enzo Squillino Jnr (Juan
Romero), Christopher Hatherall (George Newman), Owen Aaronovitch

The Sixth Doctor and new companion Constance Clarke encounter a
bizarre and dangerous situation in America...2029 AD. In the desert
of Arizona, billionaire philanthropist Dr Hugo Macht is trying to
save the world from climate change. But his great project to "scrub
the sky clean" with nanoatomic machines grinds to an unexpected
halt when his diggers break into something unexpected: a Viking
burial barrow containing eight corpses, a mysterious shield, an
even more mysterious inscription...and a yet more mysterious
traveller in time and space, known only as the Doctor. And that's
not even the strangest part of Dr Macht's day. Soon, it'll begin to
snow. Soon, the Doctor and his girl Friday, Mrs Constance Clarke,
will come face-to-face with an ancient horror in the blizzard. A
Frost Giant, in need of a new body. In need of flesh...Colin Baker

On the planet Cicero Prime, the kingdom of Cardenas is divided,
with the whole population forced to swear allegiance to either the
effete Duke or the fiery, hard-edged Duchess. This is a situation
both parties have grown tired of. What use is half a kingdom when,
thanks to a carefully engineered murder, you could have it all?
Surely, neither of them would be rash enough to summon the deadly
off-world assassin The Scorpion to help with their problem? And
surely, this terrifying figure wouldn't arrive wearing a long cream
coat and striped trousers...? Big Finish have been producing Doctor
Who audios since 1999, starring Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin
Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, David Tennant and John Hurt.
This release's director Barnaby Edwards is not only a prolific Big
Finish director, but as an actor is the lead Dalek operator on TV's
Doctor Who. Cast: Peter Davison (The Doctor), Janet Fielding (Tegan
Jovanka), Sarah Sutton (Nyssa), Matthew Waterhouse (Adric),
