PROLOGUE: Michael Izzo was born on 6/3/1987 in San Diego, CA. to be put up for adoption; but, was quickly moved back to LI, New York for reasons unknown... Michael's Grandparents were of German, Jewish decent, and his mother was the 1st generation American. Erna Avramavich was born and lived in Germany from April 8, 1928 to the mid 1950's. Erna Avram, a child of 12 moved solely to America, fleeing Germany, and escaped the damage caused by Adolph Hitler; as it's been told. Hitler's primary mission, was to kill all Jews & oppressors; because he was consumed by the Devil's mission to prevent the 2nd birth of Jesus Christ. Although, his motives are widely debated. However, God knew of this treachery and decided it would be best to disguise Jesus' new ancestors as German-Jews. Allowing Michael to be born one day in a free country, ridden of persecution to uncover his truth of being Jesus Christ. Similar to Jesus Christ, Michael Izzo also became quickly known at the age of 12; when he was published in the local town's newspaper: As a well known, local aggressive roller skater. In addition, no formal records are kept of Michael's teenage or young adult life; other than schooling and some medical records. However, Michael Izzo being who he is in nature, quickly started questioning & rebelling against society. As a result, he would fall into the hands of the law and even worse; the Devil & his mighty temptations. However, being as blessed and powerful as he is through trials, error, and sheer faith; Michael kept strong and asked God to forgive him in every testament of his faith. As of today, there are no official records of Michael's past dealings with criminal behavior or acts of Demonic pleasures. However, Michael finds the need for speaking only the truth through his music: as a form of forgiveness, for such trials of faith for Gods Will. He quoted to me - "I believe that there are no records of these days; meaning after turning 12, from than and now; because God didn't want the world to remember me for the bad times, only for the good ones. It is only on Earth that we SIN; but in Heaven we are Sinless." In Jesus' first existence, his mission was to bridge the gap between Heaven & Earth, and to be crucified in the process. Michael's mission is to finish what was started, by defeating Satan's evil eternally. In this autobiography, we shall embark upon the lost chapters of the life and times of Jesus Christ from age 13-26; with insights of Michael's proposed plans for himself, after his current age of 26. Such plans, can only be revealed with time and through the permission of God. However, Michael shall reveal his current mission to us; which is to salvage the remaining souls of humanity, during the end of days. Whilst destroying the Devil or known as the anti-Christ; creating, an eternal kingdom of peace in both Heaven and on the new Earth, AKA New Jerusalem. Aside from his lost journals; we shall see his prophecy revealed, through Michael's music of scriptures. This novel, shall uncover many secrets & truths of what is to come for the world; during the end of times, in order for a new world to begin. These truths, shall describe the outcome for all things; including, righteous followers of Jesus Christ, followers of the Devil, as well as everyone else thereof... In the bible, under (Luke 21:7-25) it states the following: (21:16) - "And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, & brethren & kinsfolk, & friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death." (21:17) - "And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake." (21:18) - "But there shall not an hair of your head perish." (21:20) - "And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh." (21:21) - "Then let them which are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto."

Thirty-two-year-old Kay Stewart is on top of the world. For the past eleven years, she has let nothing interfere with her climb to achieve notoriety as a New York fashion designer with her own line, label, and international success. Determined to never succumb to the patter of little feet and picket fence syndrome, Kay is more than ready to welcome the rewards she has worked so hard to achieve. But all of that is about to change when Kay receives a strange message on her answering machine. Kay barely has time to figure out who the message is from when her doorman delivers an unusual package. When she peers inside, Kay is shocked to discover its contents: a baby boy. With only an anonymous note supposedly penned by someone from her childhood to provide clues, Kay faces a complex dilemma: who would entrust their baby in her care? When she is forced to explain the baby's sudden appearance to her long-time boyfriend, his unexpected reaction to the news sends her on a journey into her past where she soon unearths much more than just the baby's identity. In this novel, a career woman whose life is turned upside down by an unforeseen package is about to discover that nothing is predictable, especially when it comes to babies, love, and the future.

A Longing to Belong - Reflections on Faith, Identity, and Race: Michelle Lee-Barnewall A Longing to Belong - Reflections on Faith, Identity, and Race
Michelle Lee-Barnewall
R290 Discovery Miles 2 900 Ships in 12 - 17 working days

Growing up in the only Korean family in a Minnesota town, Michelle Lee-Barnewall has felt the pain of racial discrimination and the resulting identity confusion that follows. Through the telling of her personal story, she seeks to transcend the current divide between those who emphasize social justice concerns and those who believe these concerns compromise the core of the gospel. A Longing to Belong integrates a biblical worldview and personal experience on the topic of race and race relations. Lee-Barnewall writes as both a New Testament scholar and an Asian American who has personally experienced what it means to be racially marginalized, seeking to filter those experiences through the lens of the New Testament and what it has to say to us today about our Christian calling and our identity in Christ as a member of his body. A Longing to Belong spurs readers to consider what it means to live as racially distinctive people in a fallen world that abounds in misunderstanding and pain and is in desperate need of the gospel of grace, especially as manifested in the redeemed Christian community. This memoir extends the discussion beyond academic discussion of race relations and personal narratives by demonstrating how theology and experience are necessarily intertwined and mutually contribute to our understanding of race and our relationships with each other. Rather than arguing for one "side," Lee-Barnewall shares examples rooted in her own experience in light of an overarching kingdom theology.

Fulfilling all the high expectations set by her well-received Crazy Ladies, Michael Lee West's She Flew the Coop brilliantly interweaves dark calamity with comedy to depict everyday life in tiny Limoges, Louisiana, in 1952. Told through the voices of its richly eccentric characters, She Flew the Coop is an entrancing picture of Limoges's gossipmongering citizens and a beautifully rendered picture of small-town life, filled with wry humor and humanity.

This book presents a collective mediation on writing, methods, violences, and un/becomings in global politics. It combines narratives, fictional stories, academic discussions, passionate unwindings, imagined futures, and more. The editor's intention is to offer a theoretically creative work which engages extensively with the visual and affective to un-discipline knowledge and modes of expression. The book’s point of departure is a conventional academic conference and its peculiar academic concerns (which many readers will only be too familiar with), using this to open up to broader and deeper concerns about everyday-level decisions, realities, and perspectives that feed into and make global politics. It is a polyvocal text that collects traces of thinking, learning, conversing, embodying and ‘finding out’, in an attempt to make visible some of the avalanches of discarded knowing practices. In this sense, this book is a methods book as much as a political/theoretical text that demands we (better) understand or know the worlds we enter, inhabit, to make it quiver otherwise.

The Guardian Chronicles (Hardcover): Michael Lee The Guardian Chronicles (Hardcover)
Michael Lee
R849 Discovery Miles 8 490 Ships in 12 - 17 working days

When the Gods first created the world of Bremaria, it was decided to leave its inhabitants free to choose between good and evil. The Light Races, represented by humans, elves, dwarves, halflings, and troglodytes, were balanced by the Dark Races; goblins, hobgoblins, trolls, ogres, and gremlins. Other races, most notably the dragons, centaur and minotaur, were created in neutrality (although even they may lean to one side or another). It was made known that in time to come, the Gods would return to judge the world, and to decide its ultimate fate. In order to help the races lean towards good, it was decided to bequeath to one of the race of dragons the power to be omnipresent in all beings of every race, knowing the deeds, desires, and motivations of all people, everywhere. That dragon became the first of the Guardians. Vast wisdom and knowledge was granted to the Guardian, as well as much greater magical powers, a lifespan thrice that of normal dragons, and the ability to pass on their powers at the time of their death to an apprentice of their choosing. They were to use their powers and knowledge not to dominate the races, but to persuade them to live in peace with one another, and to make the world what the Gods had intended it to be. The Guardian Chronicles trilogy details a part of the history of Bremaria. It specifically deals with a time of great upheaval and warfare which occurred almost a thousand years after the Guardians had finally brought true peace to the land. Book One, The Chosen of the Guardian, begins with the current Guardian; Gangar, a golden dragon of great age. Deeply attached to Bremaria and its people, he had waited almost too late to choose an apprentice. In his haste to do so, he picked Trantyricus the Black, a young dragon of great power, ability, and charm. But there was a darker side to the new apprentice, which his master knew nothing of (the powers of the Guardian being limited in their ability with regards to dragons, as opposed to common mortals). Dismissing his troubling behavior as the arrogance typical of youth, Gangar taught his student how to experience the world through the eyes of its lesser inhabitants, as the Guardians themselves do. He hoped that in feeling firsthand the hopes, tragedies, fears, and love of others, his student's proud and arrogant nature would be tempered by compassion. He was wrong. Trantyricus reveled in the suffering of others. And in playing with his victims, he finally discovered that he could also take complete control of them, and make them do his bidding. Using others to amuse himself, he eventually went too far, causing a conflict which resulted in the destruction of an entire city. Gangar was horrified, and cast his student out. But it was already too late. Using his former master's teachings as a base to build his power, Trantyricus has, at the time our story begins, taken control of the Dark Races, which are more susceptible to his summons, and gone to war to seize all of Bremaria. But even that will not satisfy him. Knowing that only the Guardians themselves are powerful enough to control all sentient beings in the world, he now wages a constant magical battle against the old dragon, determined to destroy the magical shields surrounding and protecting Gangar's home in an attempt to capture his former master. Trantyricus knows that if he can seize Gangar's powers from him, the raising of armies and the conquering of territory will be unnecessary. Trantyricus must be stopped fast, for his power grows daily. But now, he has made what could be a fatal blunder. In order to concentrate fully on the capture of Gangar, Trantyricus has taken into his service four apprentices of his own, and has given up to them part of his own power, so that they can control his armies and govern his holdings. In answer, Gangar has chosen a group of heroes, warriors and mages which he has carefully nurtured over the years to fight evil,

Any time Vietnam veterans get together--whether it's two or twenty of them--war stories follow. The tales they relate about the paddies, the jungles, the highlands, the waterways, and the airways provide the vets a greater understanding of the war they survived and gives nonparticipants a glimpse into the dangerous intensity of firefights, the often hilarious responses to inexplicable situations, and the strong bonds only they can share. These stories from soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines have never been captured or compiled in a meaningful way--until now. These stories are the "real meat" of the Vietnam experience. In brief narratives, the veterans themselves relate the valor, hardship, fear, and humor of the war in Vietnam.

Pamela Elizabeth Clark, Michael Lee Rilee
R4,290 Discovery Miles 42 900 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

Remote Sensing from a New Perspective The idea for this book began many years ago, when I was asked to teach a course on remote sensing. Not long before that time, I had been part of the effort to develop the first database for planetary data with a common digital array format and interactive processing capabilities to correlate those data easily: the lunar consortium. All the available lunar remote sensing data were included, orbital and ground-based, ranging across the entire electromagnetic spectrum. I had used this powerful tool extensively, and, in that spirit, I was determined to create a course which covered the entire spectrum and a variety of targets. As I looked around for the equivalent of a textbook, which I was willing to pull together from several sources, I realized that available material was very heavily focused on the visual and near visual spectrum and on the Earth as a target. Even The Surveillant Science, edited by Edward Holz and published in 1973, which broke new ground in having diverse articles on most of the spectrum when it was created, focused entirely on the Earth. My personal favorite, the exceedingly well written book on remote sensing by Floyd Sabins first published in 1978, covered the visual, infrared, and microwave portions of the spectrum beautifully but focused on the Earth as well. Unhindered, I developed what I called 'packets' of material for each part of the spectrum.

To end a famine, the people of Qaralon have been driven to the stars in search of a good farming planet; now, the scouts have finally found one teeming with life. The problem is, it's also teeming with humans, a stubborn species that doesn't give up without a fight. After fifty years of brutal war, Earth is trying to find balance, peace, and hope once again.

Born and raised on his parents' ship, the Universe Explorer, during the war, Jonathon Casey is a true child of the stars. Everyone assumes that he will run his own ship one day, but Jonathon had other ideas. He becomes a child therapist instead-but he can't resist the call of the open skies for long and returns to space to protect the earth.

But now that the fighting has ended, his attentions shift back to caring for the children of war, those innocents who have lost everything. Despite the best efforts to protect them, many are damaged, scarred, and lost. For those left behind, the government-run homes are far from a safe sanctuary. The kids do whatever they need to do to survive on the streets, and it is to this group of scrappy survivors that he was drawn.

To bring his new dream to life, Jonathon pulls the old family spaceship out of retirement and recruits twenty boys from the streets for his new crew. Not even Captain Casey could have predicted what these young men were capable of when put to the test.

Eleven years before Rosa Parks resisted going to the back of the bus, a young black second lieutenant, hungry to fight Nazis in Europe, refused to move to the back of a U.S. Army bus in Texas and found himself court-martialed. The defiant soldier was Jack Roosevelt Robinson, already in 1944 a celebrated athlete in track and football and in a few years the man who would break Major League Baseball's color barrier. This was the pivotal moment in Jackie Robinson's pre-MLB career. Had he been found guilty, he would not have been the man who broke baseball's color barrier. Had the incident never happened, he would've gone overseas with the Black Panther tank battalion-and who knows what after that. Having survived this crucible of unjust prosecution as an American soldier, Robinson-already a talented multisport athlete-became the ideal player to integrate baseball. This is a dramatic story, deeply engaging and enraging. It's a Jackie Robinson story and a baseball story, but it is also an army story as well as an American story.
