David MacKenzie directs this British drama in which a troubled
teenager and his father bond in the unusual surroundings of a
prison. 19-year-old Eric (Jack O'Connell) has had an extremely
difficult childhood. Taken into care after the death of his mother
and the sentencing of his father (Ben Mendelsohn), Eric's
subsequent struggles with authority are highlighted by the fact
that he has been 'starred up' from juvenile prison to the real
thing, despite his tender years. Eric is happy with the outcome,
though, as it gives him a chance to reconnect with his father and
to demonstrate his toughness. However, with certain prison wardens
not averse to using extreme violence to enforce order and protect
others, Eric may have to tread carefully and pay attention to the
calming words of his father if he is to make it out of the facility
in one piece.

High stakes drama starring Sam Riley, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke
and Ray Winstone. The family of Vince Ferro (Riley) are in grave
need of money to pay medical bills. When Vince hears of the death
of a man who was due to start a well paid job, he steals a letter
addressed to the man and heads to New York to try and assume his
identity. The ploy works and Vince is taken to the place of his
employment but the 'job' is unusual to say the least. Vince finds
himself forced to participate in a game of Russian roulette where
the winner takes home a fortune and the losers go home in a body
bag. Wealthy men, such as Jasper (Statham) - who has entered his
less fortunate brother, Ronald (Winstone), into the event - bet on
the outcome. Can Vince find a way to survive the horrifying game?
While many textbooks explain the techniques of CBT, few fully
explore the issues surrounding their application in real-life
practice. This unique book comes to the rescue of anyone struggling
with the challenges of practising CBT, whether you are a trainee
working under supervision or a qualified practitioner. It examines
key obstacles, issues and difficulties encountered over the course
of the therapy, illustrated with extensive case examples. Learning
objectives, practice exercises and further reading lists help you
engage with and relate the issues to your own practice.
Acknowledging that people are more complex than just the presenting
disorder, the authors consider questions around: o Good practice in
assessment and case formulation o The challenge of diagnosis o Key
client issues, such as guilt and shame, perfectionism, and
inability to tolerate storing feeling o The therapeutic
relationship o Organisational factors. This succinct and accessible
guide throws a lifebelt to any CBT trainee or therapist struggling
under the realities of today's psychotherapy and counselling
practice, particularly within NHS settings.
