This book was developed as part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the founding of the journal Education 3-13, which has always had primary education as its main focus. The journal has been published by Routledge since 2007 and is the most important academic publication in the field internationally. This book has been edited by a team of academics and senior practitioners, all of whom are members of the Board of the journal or the Association for the Study of Primary Education (which is the owning body of the journal). It will serve as an excellent resource to researchers and students of primary education. This book pursues this question by rhetorically analyzing U.S. news and political discourse concerning the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the 2010 U.S. midterm elections, the 2012 U.S. presidential election, and the 2014-2015 Chinese cyber espionage controversy. It finds that memory frames of China as the yellow peril and the red menace have combined to construct China as a threatening red peril. Red peril characterizations revive and revise yellow peril tropes of China as a moral, political, economic and military threat by imbuing them with anti-communist ideology. Tracing the origins, functions, and implications of the red peril, this study illustrates how historical representations of the Chinese threat continue to limit understanding of U.S.-Sino relations by keeping the nations' relationship mired in the past.

If civil society is being encouraged to more fully embrace inclusiveness and respect for diversity, then so must the multiplicity of service support organizations with which it interacts. Communication within project-based environments presents special challenges. Many of the problems that develop in construction projects are a result of both the temporary and inter-disciplinary nature of project teams. Each player having a different employer complicates the situation further. problems, featuring a number of examples related to the construction industry. Several non-typical perspectives on the process of communication are introduced, to encourage the reader to think about communication in a new way. 'Thinking with diagrams', for example, is useful for those such as architects who work primarily with visual communication media. This can be contrasted with the 'visual perception' approach, which emphasises the rational and scientific aspects of human biology. The combination of different perspectives highlights the diversity of communication problems facing those working within project-based environments.
It is a year after August Street, a senior fellow at the H P Carlisle foundation (a research institute), has published a book entitled "Raven". Though Street used Top Secret British documents that are now declassified to describe the book's events, he and his publisher agreed to release the book as fiction. Street believes the story is about the darkest days of World War II. When Britain prepared for the invasion code-named Operation Sealion, Britain ambushed Hitler's private train, killed Hitler, and had actor Archie Smthyes impersonate the Nazi dictator long enough to issue a single order: Stand down from Operation Sealion. And when it came time for Smthyes to step down and escape the Nazis, he refused. Consequently, two fatal decisions were made in Churchill's war room. The first resulted in the murder of six million Jews, and the second cost the lives of 20 million Russians. The HP Carlisle foundation confronts Street to sign a document asserting that Raven is nothing more than the product of his imagination. When Street refuses, he is released from the institute. This he can accept, but when he realises that he is being stripped of his identity -- and his physical presence in America -- he is forced to act!

In an analysis which spans institutional perspectives and operational concerns, the contributors explore the dynamics of stakeholder involvement as deliberative processes constructed around the core idea of shared responsibility. Key questions include the extent to which the goals of economic development are congruous with the 'contemplative city' and especially the need for mature and creative reflection in the 'post-conflict' city, whether development interests have taken precedence over the need for a deeper appreciation of a more nuanced Titanic legacy in the city of Belfast, and what Belfast shares with other places in considering the sacred and profane in memory construction.
