Der Germanist Adolf Bacmeister untersucht im vorliegenden Band, der posthum von Otto Keller herausgegeben wurde, die keltischen Dialekte, so bspw. die altirische, kornische und kymrische Sprache. Er befasst sich dabei mit dem Menschen (u. a. Leben, Leib und Tod), der Natur und ihren Ph nomenen, den Werkzeugen und Einrichtungen (z. B. St dte, Nahrungsmittel, Kleidung) sowie mit den Begriffen der Religion und Philosophie, Raum und Zeit. Sorgf ltig nachbearbeiteter Nachdruck der Originalausgabe aus dem Jahr 1874.

Mit seinem Koerper versucht der Mensch, Gemeinsamkeit mit anderen Menschen herzustellen (Kommunikation) und systemhaft aufrecht zu erhalten (Kultur). Gleichzeitig sind der Koerper und seine Eigenarten, wie etwa das Geschlecht oder die Generation, Ergebnisse von Kommunikation in Kultur. Beides ist keine harmonische Wechselwirkung, sondern ein problematischer, ja "skandaloeser" Konflikt, den die aus vielen Forschungskulturen, Sprachen und Disziplinen stammenden Beitrage dieses Bandes einerseits historisch dokumentieren und andererseits theoretisch weiter denken. Dabei liegt der Fokus auf dem Mittelalter und der Fruhen Neuzeit in Europa, als sich die modernen Beziehungsstrukturen noch nicht verfestigt hatten. Die Beitrage gehen auf die gleichnamige Tagung zuruck, die im Mai 2013 in Lausanne stattgefunden hat. Sie sind auf Deutsch, Franzoesisch und Englisch verfasst.

Noch heute gilt Durrenmatts Justiz als Werk in der Nachfolge seiner Krimis der 1950er Jahre, obwohl der Autor sich explizit gegen diese Einreihung gewehrt hat. Anhand einer Analyse der Figur des Gangsters lasst sich aufzeigen, dass im Justizroman eine von Grund auf veranderte Thematik vorliegt, dass Justiz kein Kriminalroman ist, sondern ein philosophisches Werk, in dem es um die Problematik der Erzeugung von Glauben und Macht geht. Justiz reiht sich dadurch in das noch wenig gewurdigte, gewaltige Werk der Stoffe-Zeit ein, in der der Autor sich von einem ideenzentrierten Denken abwendet und ein systemkritisch analytisches Denken praktiziert. Was Friedrich Durrenmatt "philosophisch" nennt, sind paradoxe Gleichnisse, welche die Ordnungsmuster des burgerlichen Kriminalromans kritisch hinterfragen.
