Set in and around the corridors of power, Bodyguard tells the story of David Budd, a heroic but volatile war veteran now working as a Specialist Protection Officer for the Royalty and Specialist Protection Branch (RaSP) of London’s Metropolitan Police Service.

When he is assigned to protect the ambitious and powerful Home Secretary Julia Montague, Budd finds himself torn between his duty and his beliefs.

Having served in Helmand and experienced first-hand trauma, David's mental stability is shattered underneath the surface, and his memories of the atrocities he encountered leaves him questioning his loyalty to Montague and her means of power.

All eight episodes from the first series of the BBC crime drama. The programme follows the serving officers of the South Sussex Police Force as they deal with the daily challenges of the front line, including rookie PC Jake Vickers (Jacob Ifan), whose father is the Chief Superintendent, and his partner PC Ryan Draper (Ashley Walters). As they attend to various incidents including a dognapping, fighting naturists and public schoolboy muggings the officers' personal lives are affected by their work.
