The first section of this volume presents previously unpublished and other finds from museums and collections, included on the basis of their importance in relation to Roman Siscia (Croatia). The second part of the volume encompasses recent finds from the excavations performed in 2003 at the site of St. Quirinus in Sisak (central Croatia). These Roman era finds are kept in the Municipal Museum of Sisak, the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb, in the Zagreb collection of Matej Pavletic, the Sisak collection of Marko Golan, and in one anonymous numismatic collection in Zagreb. 216 finds are catalogued.

One private numismatic collection in Zagreb, Croatia was found to contain a group of silver items, which has all the characteristics of an authentic Roman hoard, including the usual scarcity of information about the circumstances of discovery and the specific location. Only the following is available in terms of relevant information about the hoard: this chance find comes from the Lower Danube region and was found in a pottery vessel removed from the earth at a depth of approximately 1.5 meters. The type, name and specific or at least approximate location of the site of discovery remain unknown, along with the type and form of the vessel into which the objects were places, and it is not absolutely certain

Once the most important Roman city in continental Croatia, Sisak's subsequent history was marked by stormy and dramatic events, yet its Roman remains survived the onslaught of Avars, Franks and Turks. Part I of this volume summarises earlier published finds from the site, Part II charts the metalwork finds, here considered from the standpoint of their production, and Part III constitutes the first full publication of the Terra Sigillata, currently housed at the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb.
