Now in its third edition, Woods and West's The Psychology of Work and Organizations provides students with a complete introduction to how psychology can help us to better understand the world of work and to change it for the better. Work psychology has the potential to help people be more productive and prosperous in their jobs, to derive joy from work, flourish rather than languish as a result of their work lives, and to ensure the effectiveness and adaptability of work organizations. Ensuring organizations support environmental concerns, enable positive approaches to equality, diversity and inclusion, and achieve the benefits of new technologies are key themes of this new edition. The authors address these issues with an engaging, optimistic and very accessible approach.

This innovative volume analyzes historical, strategic and domestic political influences on the character and dynamics of the European Union's eastern enlargement. Its main focus is on interactions between Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary, in political-diplomatic, commercial-economic and socio-cultural fields. The book also examines the wider European and international contexts to show that as enlargement advanced, we also witnessed an increase in the potential for conflict among EU members, old and new. Steve Wood provides an eclectic and topical appraisal, which identifies the German state as the crucial actor in both the enlargement venture and parallel processes of bilateral reconciliation. The book is recommended to those with interests in contemporary Germany, Central and Eastern Europe, and European integration.

Rebecca is a young girl about to celebrate her seventh birthday. One night, after seeing a shooting star, she makes a wish, hoping that magical fairies would attend her party. Quite surprisingly, one of them does; but when Rebecca's mischievous and misbehaving friend Michael cruelly crushes a butterfly, it turns out to be the Supreme Fairy Queen Samantha. Suddenly Rebecca and Michael, along with their friends Fredericka and Zeb, are transported into a magical land where time stands still. There they have many adventures and enlist the help of some native bush animals to try and teach Michael a lesson about being so cruel to harmless creatures. Michael refuses to see the errors of his ways and is made to stand trial for inflicting such damage on the Fairy Queen, whose job it is to maintain balance in the universe. Eventually Michael meets the Wonambee, a strange and mystical snake who shows him the errors of his ways. Now that Michael has finally repented, the children must set out to somehow heal the Fairy Queen and find their way back to their own world.
