Classic drama in which three soulful sisters rise out of Harlem to
become music's hottest singing group. Against the vibrant grooves
of Curtis Mayfield, these divas explode onto the scene with
off-the-hook harmonies and a sexy style that catapults them to
superstardom. But not every fairytale has a happy ending and when
success leads to excess, one sister's star will fade, while
another's will sparkle.
The Tastemaker charts the singular life of a man who has been at
the beating heart of music's most iconic moments for over sixty
years. Leaving school and starting his career at Decca Records in
1958 at the age of sixteen, Tony King would soon find himself
becoming close friends with Elton John, rekindling John Lennon and
Yoko Ono's relationship, mediating a quarrelsome Mick Jagger and
Keith Richards and spending time with Freddie Mercury in his final
days - a far cry from his childhood days in Eastbourne. Living in
an era of seismic social, technological and cultural
transformation, King experienced these defining moments as a
stalwart in London and New York's gay scenes. Alongside his heady
life in showbusiness, he was witness to the AIDS crisis and its
devastating consequences: the death of family, the death of friends
and the stultifying weight of responsibility in being called upon
to hold things together. At once profound and suffused with Tony
King's disarming warmth and unparalleled charisma, The Tastemaker
paints an intimate portrait of a music legend and captures the
unpredictable world he stamped his indelible mark upon.

JOHN Leaving school at the age of sixteen to start his career in
the music industry at Decca Records, Tony King would soon find
himself becoming a close friend and confidante to some of the
world's biggest artists - a far cry from his childhood days in
Eastbourne. He has worked with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The
Ronettes, Elton John and many more, including Freddie Mercury, whom
he spent time with in the Queen frontman's final days. Living in an
era of seismic social, technological and cultural transformation,
King experienced these defining moments as an influential figure in
London and New York's gay scenes. Despite his heady life in
showbusiness, however, he would soon learn that a glittering career
couldn't shield him from heartbreak - witness to the AIDS crisis
and the devastating consequences, his personal life was
intermittently marked by tumult and turmoil. Suffused with Tony
King's disarming warmth and unparalleled charisma - and at times
profoundly moving - The Tastemaker paints an intimate portrait of a
music legend and captures the unpredictable world he stamped his
indelible mark upon.
Poetry is something we can all write and probably have written at
some point in our lives. It is not the reserve of a few literary
giants or massive intellectuals. It is a way of communicating our
feelings in small, bite-sized pieces, so that others can 'have a
nibble' when the mood takes them. There may only be one or two in
such an anthology that you will keep coming back to, but they will
always have that power to move you in some way. We hope you will
enjoy 'Inside Out'. From the authors simplest, witty observations
to the deepest recesses of his mind, it truly is a journey of
discovery. It might even inspire you to put pen to paper in a
lyrical and meaningful way yourself; hope so.
The book covers the subject of coaching in business, but from the
perspective of a Sports Coach. Using their guiding principles in
the business world. In business, coaching tends to be done, as a
box ticking exercise and is task focused, rather than as part of a
process of continual development. In sport, coaching is an ongoing
process, with measurable goals and objectives to keep the focus.
The main theme is about how to coach in business and the book
guides the reader through a process from building a team, to the
finer elements of development and team dynamics. There are many
examples from different sports on approach or strategy, which can
be adapted into the business world. The vision is to reshape
thinking about business coaching and to do so in a way which can be
easily assimilated. Sport is something that most of us will have
had exposure to and taking the technical instructions given in
sport and aligning that to business problems or personal
development makes it easy to digest and memorable.
This is a fantasy about Neville the Gnome and his many friends;
Ferdinand the Frog, George Sparrow, Mick the Monkey, and his sons,
