Spanning continents as well as disciplines, the first volume of the
miniseries 'Many Peaces' presents a panorama of diverse
interpretations of peace in world history and culture. Dietrich
takes the reader on a fascinating journey through time and space,
exploring the so-called five families of peace - energetic, moral,
modern, post-modern and trans-rational. He stresses the importance
of combining rationality and reason with human properties such as
emotion and spirituality in applied peace work. This innovative
book indicates a paradigm shift and proposes a new epistemological
understanding of peace with enormous consequences for conflict
work.
This second volume in the 'Many Peaces' series analyses the
emergence of elicitive conflict transformation, demonstrating how
the principles of peace and conflict work are interrelated with
humanistic psychological insights and methods. This volume discusses
the recent changes of working conditions in the fields of
diplomacy, military, development cooperation and political economy,
exploring how this 'trans-rational' turn impacts practical peace
and conflict work and experiential peace education. Based on the
principles of humanistic psychology and Yoga philosophy, and as a
wider concept of John Paul Lederach's well-known conflict pyramid,
this book introduces a wide range of breath-oriented,
voice-oriented and movement-oriented methods and their application
in practical fieldwork.Dietrich's study presents a new model of
themes, levels and layers in conflict analysis, which adds to the
conventional understanding of human relations and conflicts.Other
books in the 'Many Peaces' series include Interpretations of Peace
in History and Culture by Wolfgang Dietrich.
Supporters and critics of Georg W. Bush agree that the foreign
policy of his administration has made a significant break with
precedent and that its effects will be felt for decades to come.
John W. Dietrich's carefully edited collection assembles the
president's most important policy statements on issues including
the war on terrorism; Iraq; global warning; and relations with
countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle
East. Each topical chapter opens with an original essay providing
background history and information, tracing Bush's policy choices,
and highlighting key policy debates. The book presents a balanced
portrait of the president's actions and motivations, so that
readers can reach their own judgments on Bush's policies and their
implications for future U.S. policy.

This book considers elicitive conflict transformation and its
interrelation with humanistic psychology. It discusses the
transrational turn in the fields of diplomacy, military,
development cooperation and political economy, presenting a new
model of conflict analysis with practical implications for peace
work.
Recent breakthroughs in understanding the effectiveness of brain
hypothermia treatment have been brought about by rapid progress in
experimental gene studies along with new findings in the areas of
brain-injury mechanisms, brain thermo-pooling, hemoglobin
dysfunction, insulin-resistant hyperglycemia, radical damage
involving states of consciousness, management of lipid-dominant
metabolism in the intensive care unit (ICU), and management of
immune crises under conditions of hypothermia. This book explains
the mechanism of brain hypothermia and presents advanced techniques
for ICU management of brain hypothermia for critically
brain-injured patients. Especially useful for bedside care in the
ICU are the easy-reference care-management "cards" in the appendix
of the book. Brain Hypothermia Treatment provides a valuable
resource and practical guide for professionals in the fields of
neurosurgery and emergency and critical care medicine.
This is the first volume in the trilogy 'Many Peaces' on
transrational peace and elicitive conflict transformation. It
proposes an innovative analysis of peace interpretations in global
history and contemporary cultures of peace, the so-called five
families of energetic, moral, modern, post-modern, and
transrational.

Garten erleben?
gewunschten Erfolg fuhren mussen.
Buddha gewidme
