OPEN FOR BUSINESS After claiming victory against Haku in the
dungeon battle, Keima invests his winnings in some home
improvements. His plan? Build an inn! Naturally, an inn requires
capable staff. But before he can make his selection, an especially
eager candidate pushes their way to the front! She claims she's a
safe bet, but will she be able to put her money where her mouth is?
Or has Keima got another headache on his hands? And when will his
dream of becoming a dungeon master who never has to work come
true?!
Masuda Keima just wants to sleep. Too bad for him, he's been pulled
from comfy sheets into a fantasy dungeon that he's charged to
protect. Failing to do so will cost him his life. His only guide on
what to do is the personification of the Dungeon Core, Rokuko. But
she's a moron who can't even figure out how to get rid of a group
of bandits. If Keima ever wants to get some sweet dreams again,
he'll have to do all the planning himself!
WHERE THERE'S SMOKE THERE'S FIRE! With the inn open and business
ramping up, things are starting to turn around for the Ordinary
Cave's nap-deprived dungeon master. Though once the guild catches
wind of this new establishment, Keima's humble abode earns itself a
new name, the Cave of Greed. Later, when Haku herself stops by for
a visit, she offers up some chilling information - there's another
dungeon on the mountain, the Flame Cave! Can Keima avoid clashing
with his neighbors or will he and his dungeon go up in smoke?!
"Imperial Geographies in Byzantine and Ottoman Space" opens new and
insightful vistas on the nexus between empire and geography. The
volume redirects attention from the Atlantic to the space of the
eastern Mediterranean shaped by two empires of remarkable duration
and territorial extent, the Byzantine and the Ottoman. The essays
offer a diachronic and comparative account that spans the medieval
and early modern periods and reaches into the nineteenth century.
Methodologically rich, the essays combine historical, literary, and
theoretical perspectives. Through texts as diverse as court records
and chancery manuals, imperial treatises and fictional works,
travel literature and theatrical adaptations, the essays explore
ways in which the production of geographical knowledge supported
imperial authority or revealed its precarious mastery of geography.

personification of the Dungeon Core, Rokuko--but she's a moron who

This book gives a new insight into the concept of creativity and
innovation as it offers a new perspective on these concepts. It
connects creativity and innovation with education. It connects
creativity with sustainability and the education for sustainable
development. It describes the complex and multifaceted concept of
creativity and the universe of innovation connected with education,
sustainability, design, humor, play, toys, tool toys and artifacts.
This book emphasizes that today's educational model generally
supports the development of one kind of analytical thinking, and
that creativity in schools, in organizations, and in business has
been buried by rules and regulations. Furthermore, it points out
that creativity skills can be learned not by sitting passively in
lectures, but by learning and applying the creative thinking
process by experimenting, exploring, questioning assumptions, using
imagination and synthesizing information. It is important for
education systems to become more flexible, more adaptive, and more
innovative. Creativity is not fostered by extrinsic incentives, but
by intrinsic interest. This book also dissects gently the multiple
aspects of the creative process and its stages, from preparation to
incubation, and from illumination to verification. It inspires
students, teachers, managers, and policymakers, and promotes and
ignites in them the flame of innovation and creativity.
Single-Parenting in the 21st Century: Perceptions, Issues and
Implications explores and illuminates the landscape of
single-parenting in the twenty-first century, during which a great
number of individuals have begun parenting on their own. Nationally
and internationally recognized experts apply their multiple years
of experience as researchers and offer the most complete handbook
available to exploring the uncharted waters of single-parenting in
the twenty-firstt century. The volume provides in-depth answers to
important questions, such as: Does being a single parent effect
physical and mental health? What is the economic status of
single-mother and single-father families? Is the psychosocial
adjustment, school performance and behavior of single-parent
students related to nuclear family children? With these questions
in mind, the chapters are classified into three categories: a)
Single-Parenting and Health; b) Single-Parenting and Economic
Disadvantage; and c) Single-Parenting and Education. Globalization,
demographic shifts, economic, cultural, social and moral crisis,
and changing trends in the labor sector all signify the
distinctiveness of the current moment with regards to family
patterns. This one-of-a-kind book promotes a world-view, a
perspective of the multiple effects of single-parenting both on
parents as well as children and presents the most recent research
data on the complex issues surrounding single-parenthood. Written
with clarity and candor by worldwide researchers and experts,
Single-Parenting in the 21st Century: Perceptions, Issues and
Implications is an essential read for teachers, parents,
administrators and policymakers at all levels.
At the beginning of the third millennium, the social "exchange"
value of creativity is becoming greater and greater. In a worldwide
landscape which has been altering at an uncontrollable speed, the
individual is called upon to manage not only his or her private
chronotope but also its almost daily changes in a child-like,
fresh, versatile, original manner. At the same time, however, the
individual is also called upon to find solutions to older problems
by traveling new roads; problems such as the issue of coexistence
on this planet, on which the future of the survival of the species
now seems to be at stake. In the present volume, Creative Problem
Solving, the bibliography of theoretical and research issues which
are, by their very nature, intertwined and multileveled have been
revised and enhanced.
Carbohydrates play an important role in many biological and
biochemical processes, including the fertilisation, cell
differentiation and maturation, protein folding and degradation.
Carbohydrate polymers covers the study and exploitation of
carbohydrate polymers which have current or potential industrial
application in areas such as food, textiles, paper, wood,
adhesives, biodegradables, biorefining, pharmaceuticals, and oil
recovery. This book focuses on recent developments on
carbohydrate-binding module (CBM) applications in the biomedical,
biological and biotechnological fields. Furthermore,
polysaccharides are complex carbohydrates that are made up chains
of monosaccharide units linked by glycosidic bonds. This book
reviews the literature on fibres spun from several polysaccharides
and fibre spinning techniques, including both conventional fibre
spinning methods and electrospinning. Resulting fibre properties
and prospective applications are discussed. This book also reviews
research on polysaccharide film-formation and characteristics,
analysed mechanical and barrier properties of polysaccharide-based
films, summarises applications of polysaccharide films in food
products and makes conclusions as to the status of polysaccharide
films and their future developmental direction. Other chapters in
this book examine the pathways leading to the production of
bioactive oligosaccharides that have biotechnological applications.
The current progress in the development of marine carbohydrates
into nutraceuticals and their applications are explored as well.
This work is based on papers presented at a conference entitled
"The Sex of Labour Law in Europe/Le Sexe du droit du travail en
Europe", which was held at the European University Institute in
Florence. The contributors argue that law in general, and
especially social and labour law, is not asexual, and that law has
been written from a male point of view. As a consequence, many
rules and regulations do not take into account a typical female
point of view and therefore appear to disregard the position of
women, which leads in many cases to sexual inequality. The
contributors give a detailed account of the position of women in
labour law in their own jurisdiction. The text should be of
interest to academics and practitioners involved in labour law,
human rights, gender studies and women's studies.
