Collection of four Tim Burton films. The stop-motion animated musical 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' (1993), produced and visualised by Tim Burton, is set in a parallel world where different lands represent different holiday periods. Skeleton Jack (voice of Chris Sarandon) from Halloween Town becomes converted to Christmas and sets out to spread joy in the world. However, when Jack's mission leads him to kidnap Santa (voice of Edward Ivory) it becomes clear that he is not really in tune with the Yuletide spirit. In 'Alice in Wonderland' (2010), based on the characters from the Lewis Carroll classics 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' and 'Through the Looking Glass', the 19-year-old Alice (Mia Wasikowska) returns to the magical world of her childhood adventure to reunite with her friends the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp), the White Rabbit (Michael Sheen), Tweedledum and Tweedledee (both played by Matt Lucas), the Dormouse (Barbara Windsor), the Caterpillar (Alan Rickman) and the Cheshire Cat (Stephen Fry). Alice discovers her true destiny as she joins forces with the colourful denizens of Wonderland to overthrow the wicked Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter). 'Frankenweenie' (2012), Burton's black and white stop-motion homage to Mary Shelley's 'Frankenstein', is a remake of his 1984 short of the same name. The story follows a young boy called Victor (voice of Charlie Tahan), who harnesses the powers of science to bring his beloved pet dog Sparky back to life - with unexpected and alarming consequences. 'Ed Wood' (1994) is a biopic of one of Hollywood's worst film directors. Setting up shop in Tinseltown with plenty of enthusiasm but no discernible talent, Ed Wood (Depp) is undeterred when his debut feature, cross-dressing drama 'Glen Or Glenda' (in which he also stars) is a flop. He goes on to make 'Bride of the Monster', also a commercial and creative disaster, with ailing horror star Bela Lugosi (Martin Landau), before embarking on his most grandiose scheme yet: 'Plan 9 from Outer Space'...
Kenneth Branagh directs this live-action fairy tale adaptation starring Lily James, Richard Madden, Cate Blanchett and Helena Bonham Carter. When her widowed father remarries to Lady Tremaine (Blanchett), Ella (James) does her best to be welcoming to her stepmother and her new stepsisters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drizella (Sophie McShera). However, after the unexpected death of her father, Ella finds herself being mistreated by Lady Tremaine and her daughters, forced to be a servant and nicknamed 'Cinderella'. One day in the woods she encounters a handsome stranger and believes him to work in the Palace, not realising he is in fact Prince Charming (Madden). Ella's household receives an invitation to a royal ball and Ella hopes she will get the chance to see the young man again. When Lady Tremaine refuses to let her attend the ball, a friendly fairy (Bonham Carter) steps in to lend a helping hand.
The fourth film in the Indiana Jones series starring Harrison Ford. Set at the height of Cold War paranoia during the 1950s, the story finds the intrepid archaeologist involved in a plot involving Soviet agents. They want Indy (Ford) to find a legendary crystal skull that is said to grant the owner supernatural powers. If the Soviets get their hands on it, they will be able to control the world. Our hero manages to escape from the Russians and soon he is in a race to find the skull. He is joined by Mutt (Shia LaBeouf), the son of Indy's one-time love, Marion (Karen Allen). Together, the pair travel to South America, where the skull is reputed to be found. There they join forces with Marion. At the same time, the Soviet agents, led by the brilliant, ice-cold Irina Spalko (Cate Blanchett), are also hot on the trail. They have the help of Mac (Ray Winstone), Indy's one time partner - but which side is Mac really on? Also involved is Ox (John Hurt), a brilliant professor who was driven insane after being exposed to the crystal skull. Can Indy get to the prize first, or will the Soviets be able to dominate the world?
Academy Award winner Costner plays the man who became a myth in an epic, action-filled saga directed and co-written by Lawrence Kasdan. Gene Hackman as Wyatt's iron-willed father and Dennis Quaid as Earp's deadly best friend, Doc Holliday, add power to this hard-hitting Western. From Wichita to Dodge City to the O.K. Corral in Tombstone, Arizona, Wyatt Earp is a thrilling journey of romance, adventure and mythic courage.
It's 1947, Hollywood and Eddie Valiant, a down-on-his-luck detective, is hired to find proof that Marvin Acme, gag factory mogul and owner of Toontown, is playing hanky-panky with femme fatale Jessica Rabbit, wife of Maroon Cartoon superstar, Roger Rabbit. When Acme is found murdered, all fingers point to Roger, and the sinister, power-hungry Judge Doom is on a mission to bring Roger to justice. Roger begs the Toon-hating Valiant to find the real evildoer and the plot thickens as Eddie uncovers scandal after scandal and realizes the very existence of Toontown is at stake! Who Framed Roger Rabbit? is deliciously outrageous fun the whole family will enjoy.
Academy Award-nominated Norwegian drama based on explorer Thor Heyerdahl's 1947 expedition in which he journeyed across the Pacific Ocean on a raft from South America to Polynesia. Heyerdahl (Pål Sverre Hagen) aims to prove his theory that the Hanau epe, an ancient Peruvian tribe, settled on the Polynesian islands 1500 years ago. To do so, he builds a raft named Kon-Tiki which resembles the type of vessel the tribe would have had the technology to make. Then, with five crew members and a parrot he sets off from Peru and takes to the ocean, despite the fact he is unable to swim or sail, to show that such a journey would have been possible even in the pre-Columbian era. During the 4300 nautical mile-voyage he and his crew encounter numerous difficulties. Will they make it safely to Polynesia and prove Heyerdahl's theory?
