CFS starts as a persistent fatigue that lasts six months or more.
Physical and mental activity may worsen the condition, and sleep
does not produce any new energy. Originally dubbed "The Yuppie Flu"
in the 1970s, it is accompanied by four or more other
maladies--short-term memory loss or inability to concentrate, sore
throat, muscle pain, joint pain, and/or tender lymph nodes. "It is
a therapeutic challenge," says Naturopath Bharadvaj. But this
author explains naturopathic approaches that are proving effective
in the treatment of CFS, either alone or in concert with Western
medicines. The reader is guided to a comprehensive understanding of
this condition from its controversial history to its growing
acceptance and evolving definition. Written from a foundation of
scientific research, the book elaborates current theories of the
cause of CFS, discusses how the disorder can display in different
people, and presents alternative diagnostic methods. Naturopathic
medicine, homeopathy, Ayurveda, acupuncture, clinical nutrition,
and botanical medicines for CFS are all explained in this excellent
resource.

inklings that a part of her life was missing to finding hope and
inspiration on the step-by-step process of healing from trauma. The
rawness and vulnerability of the childhood wounds are transmuted
into strength and power as the thoughts and emotions associated
with the trauma are faced with tenacity and willingness.

An in-depth examination of religious practices around the world and
the fascinating science behind how they make us healthier. Many
religious and spiritual beliefs promote wellness through their
practices or stated objectives—for example, focusing on simple
living, having compassion for others, vegetarianism, or meditation
and mindfulness. This refreshing work provides a review of the
world's spiritual perspectives and traditions, and explores how
their guiding principles encourage healthy lifestyle choices. An
examination of religious and nonreligious perspectives from around
the world—from atheism, Confucianism, and Christianity to Islam,
Judaism, Shamanism, and Zoroastrianism—reveals how faith beliefs
and values influence behavior and inspire healthy living. With
contributions from leading international scholars, the chapters
include a discussion of Eastern and Western world religions and
their practices—such as fasting or the avoidance of alcohol and
tobacco—and how they may foster healthfulness. A contemporary
analysis of current research findings suggests possible
interventions that individuals and health providers may utilize to
enhance healthfulness. A final chapter explores the connection
between health, illness, and religious and nonreligious
perspectives.
Geared toward those who need help or healing, The Song of Life
provides twenty-seven lessons to propel you on the path to
understanding what is really in your heart and mind. Author George
E. Samuels, a spiritual master and coach, can help you become aware
of your place in the world.
The Song of Life links you with the universe, as well as the
universal consciousness with our own individual consciousness.
Offering tips and insights, it helps you to see your connection to
more than what you currently see-to open and expand your vision so
that you recognize the universe as more than a science project, but
instead as an introduction to your universal partnership.
The lessons focus on topics such as letting go, tasting the
bitter, affirming the positive, understanding your mental and
physical universe, and realizing the importance of meditation in
this mix. The Song of Life seeks to help you heal, to show you your
place in the universe, and to create a better universe for all.
Beyond the Iceberg: A Case for Emotional Healing presents a
step-by-step investigation into human nature, considering why so
many people get angry, producing an intense response without any
good reason. Through her experience and professional studies,
author Dr. Christine Onu offers antidotes to those hidden reasons
causing people appear to be sick when there is no actual sickness.
There are many problems plaguing society today for which the root
causes are not self-evident. We are naturally inclined to think and
care for ourselves and our own safety more than we think or care
for others. But nobody is an island; we need each other for life to
be more meaningful. While there is absolute need for each of us to
take proper care of ourselves, we should also be interested in the
needs and progress of others. Beyond the Iceberg explores the value
of psychology as a necessary tool to deal with and understand human
behaviors and the problems that arise in interpersonal
relationships, so that we are better able to resolve conflicts when
they arise. Each of us creates our own life story and reality-who
we are as human beings. Beyond the Iceberg considers the hidden
emotions that create problems in our relationships, at work, and at
home, while examining the causes for our psychological challenges
and possible solutions.
Karma Rae has lived with a family secret-she was being abused. She
would later have three near-death experiences her first being at
the age of eight. Her "energy body" was guided from her physical
body by her grandfather, who had passed over when she was only
three months old. She was shown many things about what the journey
here in this physical world was about. She made a decision to
return into her physical body to continue this experience. Karma
Rae returned from her near-death experience with gifts of hearing
and seeing Spirit. She could also feel emotions in people around
her. Not fully realizing the purpose of these gifts, she lived
within a world that was everything opposite of what she was shown.
She has knowledge that we have chosen experiences, lessons, and
growth to advance our spiritual consciousness. That is where her
life ended and her spiritual journey began.
