It quickly raises the curtain on a typical family who has experienced a head on collision with unbelievable trauma and devastation. Then it leads you through the process of how they healed. It clearly shows how much faith and a foundation of strong family values matter and how on the other side of tragedy, a "true calling" was recognized. One special friend shared with me that this book has changed her life from looking inward to looking outward in service to others.

for individuals, families, and medical practitioners that opens a
new door in psychiatric health care.
It's been called everything from hemp and Mary Jane, to reefer, pot, and weed. "Cannabis sativa"-marijuana-offers therapeutic applications for everything from Alzheimer's disease and AIDS to Crohn's disease and cancer, and yet it is at the center of a national debate over its medicinal uses. And although research and anecdotal evidence clearly support the benefits of "Cannabis sativa," use of the healing herb is hindered by misinformation and misunderstanding. Carol S. Bott, a nurse and chemical dependency specialist, addresses the false claims about marijuana and provides a compelling case for using the herb to provide relief to innocent, suffering, and dying patients. With a clear and concise question-and-answer format, she provides a detailed guide for growing cannabis, instructions for cooking with it, and advice for preparing topical applications. Bott emphasizes the appropriate medical uses of marijuana and urges that patient use be informed by local and state law. Most importantly, she presents extensive research to support her position that marijuana is one of the most healing and balancing herbs available today. Whether you support the legalization of cannabis or are adamantly opposed to it, "How-To Marijuana" will give you invaluable insight into its uses and benefits.
Midlife is a journey, one filled with rough terrain, but it can be navigated with integrity and grace. Using the Tao Te Ching to explore the passage through midlife, Lisa G. Froman shares her flashes of wisdom to inspire women during this confusing and often tumultuous time. In Tao Flashes, she describes the duality of midlife, saying, "Just as we become wiser, more pliable, more beautiful, just as we begin to have clarity, we also begin to notice the signs of aging, the wrinkles, the sagging skin. At menopause, we battle hot flashes and watch as our bodies reshape themselves into something we may no longer recognize. "At the time when we are gaining power, we often feel we are losing our beauty. But the life lessons we wear on our faces are actually the subtle reminders of a rich and beautiful life executed with grace through times of pain and glory. "At middle age, we experience another paradox as we become freer, looser, yet somehow more serious about our lives, our purpose, our commitment to things and people outside of ourselves. "And as we discover what gives us depth and dimension, we can begin to embrace the light and the dark sides of our nature. That's when things get interesting."
It's not often that deer ticks carrying Lyme disease receive credit for changing someone's life, but that's exactly what happened to author and Reiki master Dane Boggs. In Reiki Awakening, he shows how two tick bites and two different diagnoses led him on his path to spiritual awakening. Using personal anecdotes culled from his health journal and stories from others, Reiki Awakening focuses on the miracles Boggs experienced and the lessons he learned during his spiritual transformation. He narrates the story of his Reiki awakening, which occurred in September of 2007; meeting his spiritual teacher in May of 2008; and practicing a healing modality that led him to a path of greater enlightenment. Boggs shares the details of his experience to encourage others to tap into the healing energy of the universe to gain the opportunity for greater peace, comfort, and bliss in life-to become an enlightened soul.
Have we medicated our faith? Have we replaced our faith in God with quick fixes? When we are sick, do we reach for the medicine only? Or do we also reach toward heaven to the One who made us? There has been a consistent increase in the amount of medications Americans are consuming over the past decades, and the numbers continue to increase. If faith increased at the rate that the intake of prescription drugs increased, miracles would become the norm, and healing would be an everyday occurrence. When Jesus was on the earth, faith in His ability to heal, out measured medications. Now we have more medicines than we have faith. The scales have tipped over. Jesus proposed this question to the disciples. "Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" It seems that the world's faith in God continues to diminish instead of growing. When the Lord returns to the earth, I pray that He will find faith in the earth. The Lord is not against His children seeking the help of physicians and medicines, but He also wants His children to seek His help and "Don't medicate your faith "
