This is a user-friendly and concise Thai phrase book and guide to
Thai slang and Thai curses. The Thai people love fun and laughter.
They appreciate foreigners who speak their language. But how would
they react to foreigners who throw insults in the Thai language and
know how to make them blush at the use of direct and vulgar Thai
words? This Thai phrasebook, while designed to teach non-Thais to
understand that spoken language on the street or in everyday life,
also teaches powerful words that could easily get them punched in
the face-probably worse. So, be cautious. This little book contains
powerful words. A non-Thai, especially a Westerner, will appreciate
the opportunity to learn some really strong and direct language
that his Thai colleagues would rather he not know. Learn how to
call someone hot or ugly, a walrus or a potbelly, stupid or a
hypocrite. Know how to put off lechers by saying "piss off!" in the
strongest possible way. Intended for just about anyone who wants to
get the most reactions from any Thai within hearing distance, this
book is simply the best reference you need to survive Thailand. Not
just a simple phrasebook, Outrageous Thai teaches how to really
speak Thai, and understand the Thai language. Know what Thais
really mean and answer back. Features of this Thai phrasebook are:
Compact travel size. Hundreds of colorful Thai phrases organized by
topic and use . Extensive explanations of context and culture. All
phrases are shown in written Thai script, Romanized Thai and
English. Intended for students of all levels and anyone interested
in how Thai is really spoken, this book is absolutely indispensable
for foreigners who live in Thailand and want to know what is being
said when someone insults you in Thai!
Over the last few decades the exchange of goods and services
between the industrialised countries and China has increased
rapidly. It has become one of the main sources of growth both in
Europe and the US. As a consequence, intellectual property (IP)
rights have inevitably become crucial for free and undistorted
trade. The creation and protection of patents, trade marks and
industrial designs is now one of the main areas both of
consultation and cross-border litigation and arbitration. In order
to help practitioners and their staff to understand and use English
and Chinese IP terms correctly, this dictionary provides a glossary
of about 2400 terms giving the meaning in English and Chinese both
in Chinese characters and Pinyin transcription. A detailed
introduction facilitates search by radicals. An annex shows in
bilingual form the most relevant forms, cover sheets, statutes etc.
The reader has here a Dictionary with more than 3000 words with the
peculiarity that compiles words similar in phonetic in both English
and Spanish languages; and thats the reason why is titled
Spanglish. The main purpose is to facilitate the apprenticeship in
an easy and unconventional way. Appreciated your curiosity, thanks.

"The authors have succeeded in the purpose of making it as easy as
possible to look up the readings and meanings of Japanese words
written in Chinese characters." --"The Modern Language Library"
The purpose of this "Learner's Kanji Dictionary" is to offer a
handy and easy-to-use tool to look up the readings and meanings of
Japanese words and names written with Chinese characters (kanji).
Each kanji entry is presented in extra-large form, with its strokes
labeled in order by small numbers 1, 2, 3, ... positioned at the
beginning of each stroke to show how the kanji is to be written.
Handwritten pen and variant forms of the kanji are also given,
along with its general structure and graphemes. This dictionary is
a concise version of the more comprehensive "Kanji Dictionary." In
all, this Japanese dictionary lists the most important 2,882
characters and 12,073 multi-character compounds, including all
1,945 "Joyo Kanji" decree for general use plus all 284 "Jinmei-yo
Kanji" sanctioned for use in given names. In addition, the most
frequently used approximately 700 surnames and 600 given names have
been added.
One feature that makes this dictionary particularly useful for a
beginner, or anyone else, is that every compound is listed under
each of its characters. This multiple listing makes it possible to
look up a compound under whichever of its characters is quickest to
find, and it is a big help in deciphering sloppy handwriting or a
blurred copy. Entries are arranged according to a radical--based
lookup system of the same type used in virtually all character
dictionaries, but with improvements that make it particularly easy
to learn and use. And with the alphabetically arranged index of
kanji readings at the back of the dictionary, the user can look up
a character via any of its known readings (or look up a compound
via any of the readings of any of its characters), without having
to determine radicals or count strokes.
This handy character dictionary includes: 2,882 character entries
and 12,073 compounds.Character entries are according to the system
of 79 Radicals.Information about writing, form, structure, etc. of
each of the characters.Approximately 700 surnames and 600 given
names.An alphabetical pronunciation index.
