From the scene-stealing star of Pitch Perfect and Bridesmaids comes a refreshingly candid, hilarious, and inspiring book about her unconventional journey to Hollywood success and loving herself. This “beautiful, brave book,” (Jenna Bush Hager, the Today show) is the story of Rebel Wilson’s remarkable personal transformation, from a painfully shy child in Australia who literally had to be dragged to drama classes and achieved break-out success in the US through iconic roles in Pitch Perfect, Bridesmaids, and Isn’t It Romantic. Through “stunningly personal revelations” (The New York Times), Rebel shares the extraordinary experiences that shaped her life. A malaria-induced hallucination? An all-style martial arts fighting tournament? Junior handling at dog shows? And this was all BEFORE she moved to Hollywood! From her painful relationship with her father, weight gain and loss, a late-in-life sexual awakening and fertility issues, Rebel shares her incredible journey to self-love in writing that is “frank and fun.” (CBS Sunday Morning) Rebel leads you through her hard-fought path to “making it,” constantly questioning, “Am I good enough? Will I ever find love? Will I ever change and become healthy?” This extraordinarily entertaining memoir shows us how to love ourselves while making us laugh uncontrollably.

Now in its third edition, Woods and West's The Psychology of Work and Organizations provides students with a complete introduction to how psychology can help us to better understand the world of work and to change it for the better. Work psychology has the potential to help people be more productive and prosperous in their jobs, to derive joy from work, flourish rather than languish as a result of their work lives, and to ensure the effectiveness and adaptability of work organizations. Ensuring organizations support environmental concerns, enable positive approaches to equality, diversity and inclusion, and achieve the benefits of new technologies are key themes of this new edition. The authors address these issues with an engaging, optimistic and very accessible approach.
This book consists of three parts.
Part One: Legislation Legislation includes the Companies Act No. 71 of 2008, Close Corporations Act No. 69 of 1984, Auditing Profession Act No. 26 of 2005 and Public Finance Management Act No.1 of 1999.
We're often told that we're living amidst a startup boom. Typically, we think of apps built by college kids and funded by venture capital firms, which remake fortunes and economies overnight. But in reality, most new businesses are things like restaurants or hair salons. Entrepreneurs aren't all millennials -- more often, it's their parents. And those small companies are the fabric of our economy. The Soul of an Entrepreneur is a business book of a different kind, exploring our work but also our passions and hopes. David Sax reports on the deeply personal questions of entrepreneurship: why an immigrant family risks everything to build a bakery; how a small farmer fights to manage his debt; and what it feels like to rise and fall with a business you built for yourself. This book is the real story of entrepreneurship. It confronts both success and failure, and shows how they can change a human life. It captures the inherent freedom that entrepreneurship brings, and why it matters.
Management is a core undergraduate textbook which is focused on preparing students with the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies necessary for the field of management. This new edition takes into account recent shifts in the world of work brought about by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Covid-19, an increasing emphasis on ethics, sustainability and governance, and the changes to the very essence of organisational structures and the nature of work. Examples and case studies have also been updated to reflect these changes.
In My Boss, Mrs Winnie Mandela, Zodwa Zwane – Winnie Madikizela-Mandela’s personal assistant, confidante, and spiritual anchor – breaks her long held silence to share the story only she can tell. For more than a decade, Zodwa walked beside one of South Africa’s most formidable and controversial icons – through scandals, heartbreaks, the traumas of banishment, and Winnie’s eventual spiritual redemption – holding her boss’s hand right up until Winnie Mandela’s death in April 2018. From the private rooms of Soweto to the corridors of power, Zodwa was there as witness and gatekeeper, becoming part of Winnie’s trusted inner circle. This intimate memoir offers a rare, behind-the-scenes portrait of Mrs Mandela as a strong, complex, wounded, and fiercely loving woman, navigating power, politics and pain. Zodwa’s humour and no-nonsense voice cuts through myth to reveal the loyalty, conflict, and deep affection that defined their bond. As Winnie’s right hand, Zodwa also stood at the crossroads of the ANC’s inner workings and the Mandela family’s private tensions. She managed not only her boss’s diary, but deeply held secrets – her loyalty tested daily. Part political history, part personal reflection, My Boss, Mrs Winnie Mandela is both a revelation and a tribute to sisterhood, faith, resilience, and the quiet strength of a woman who stood in the shadow of greatness and found her own meaning and light there.

Jim Collins, international bestselling author of Good to Great, offers transformative lessons on constructing ― and reconstructing ― a life through the cliff moments and transitions we all will face repeatedly in our lives. What to make of a life? It is a question we all wrestle with more than once. How do we find our way in the world? How do we make it past the cliffs, significant events that can radically change a life? How do we keep the inner fire burning bright, long and late? Inspired by relentless curiosity, Jim Collins devoted a decade to studying these questions and to minutely analysing those moments when life flips from clarity to confusion and casts us into a befuddling fog. His exploration compares various lives side by side, paired together at cliffs, and analyses the different choices made and divergent paths taken.
What emerges from Collins’s extensive studies ― of writers, actors, scientists, leaders, and many others ― is a framework for understanding how individual lives can be built, sustained, and constantly renewed.
The Khoesan were the first people in Africa to undergo the full rigours of European colonisation. By the early nineteenth century, they had largely been brought under colonial rule, dispossessed of their land and stock, and forced to work as labourers for farmers of European descent. Nevertheless, a portion of them were able to regain a degree of freedom and maintain their independence by taking refuge in the mission stations of the Western and Eastern Cape, most notably in the Kat River valley. For much of the nineteenth century, these Khoesan people kept up a steady commentary on, and intervention in, the course of politics in the Cape Colony. Through petitions, speeches at meetings, letters to the newspapers and correspondence between themselves, the Cape Khoesan articulated a continuous critique of the oppressions of colonialism, always stressing the need for equality before the law, as well as their opposition to attempts to limit their freedom of movement through vagrancy legislation and related measures. This was accompanied by a well-grounded distrust, in particular, of the British settlers of the Eastern Cape and a concomitant hope, rarely realised, in the benevolence of the British government in London. Comprising 98 of these texts, These Oppressions Won't Cease - an utterance expressed by Willem Uithaalder, commander of Khoe rebel forces in the war of 1850-3 - contains the essential documents of Khoesan political thought in the nineteenth century. These texts of the Khoesan provide a history of resistance to colonial oppression which has largely faded from view. Robert Ross, the eminent historian of precolonial South Africa, brings back their voices from the annals of the archive, voices which were formative in the establishment of black nationalism in South Africa, but which have long been silenced.
Since South Africa's transition to democracy, many universities have acquired new works of art that convey messages about the advantages of cultural diversity, and engage critically with histories of racial intolerance and conflict. Given concerns about the influence of British imperialism or Afrikaner nationalism on aspects of their inherited visual culture, most tertiary institutions are also seeking new ways to manage their existing art collections, and to introduce memorials, insignia or regalia, which reflect the universities' newfound values and aspirations. In Picturing Change, Brenda Schmahmann explores the implications of deploying the visual domain in the service of transformative agendas and unpacks the complexities, contradictions and slippages involved in this process. She shows that although most new commissions have been innovative, some universities have acquired works with potentially traditionalist - even backward-looking - implications. While the motives behind removing inherited imagery may be underpinned by a desire to unsettle white privilege, in some cases such actions can also serve to maintain the status quo. This book is unique in exploring the transformative ethos evident in the curation of visual culture at South African universities. It will be invaluable to readers interested in public art, the politics of curating and collecting, as well as to those involved in transforming tertiary and other public institutions into spaces that welcome diversity.

Three couples, one night. And the life that follows... Eva looked out the attic window of their charming guest house and watched the sun rise. She thought she might be sick. Splayed on the lawn below was Frank, apparently out cold. Her husband snored in the bed behind her. She loved Shay, of course she did, but right now the only person she wanted to think about was Conor. She didn't want to think about Bea or Lizzie or what Lizzie might have got up to with Shay. Frank's 48th birthday had given the three couples an excuse for a much needed night away from children, nagging bills and ailing parents. The drink flowed, life in Dublin with all its stress felt a long way away. When Frank proposed they swap partners, it felt deliciously, irresistibly reckless. One night. No obligations. No expectations. All the women had to do was text a man of their choice. The only rule? No falling in love. It was a night that some of them couldn't remember. And others couldn't forget.

Big data is currently the most powerful resource to the marketing professional, and this book illustrates how to fully harness that power to effectively maximize marketing efforts.

The authors spent time finding out how South African women respond to this phenomenon referred to as 'over 40'. The result is a title that a woman would give to herself, to a friend or to a daughter going through this 'big' transition period that involves psychological and physiological change that brings about much contemplation. 'Fabulously 40 and beyond' is written primarily from an extensive base of questionnaires as well as from feedback from media work during the book's development. The authors then synthesised and wrote this title from an extensive base of questionnaires and from feedback from media work to bring on important themes including identity, spirituality, body, family and other animals, leisure (and pleasure). At the centre is a certain power that women come into as they move into their 40's and beyond which is a clear measure of where women in their 40s are at. Clearly, the title demonstrates that these women have humour, lightness, know how much they own, and do juggle things to get things in life to go the way they want. The book offers practical advice as well as relevant statistics. During the research phase 'Fabulously 40 and beyond' saw much media interest including a feature on SAFM Otherwise, in Femina magazine and on Radio 702. This is no doubt a much-needed book that fills a gap dealing with this often difficult or traumatic stage in women's lives.
Bestselling author John Bevere challenges Christians to take a fresh and honest look at one of the most often misunderstood and avoided truths of the Christian faith—the second coming of Jesus. Through personal testimony, biblical accuracy, and practical guidance, readers will be inspired to live a life of spiritual vigilance as they prepare for the glorious return of our King. If Jesus were to return tomorrow, would you be ready? In The King Is Coming, John Bevere discusses why the Second Coming is both relevant and critical for the Christian faith. Other than salvation, it's the second most discussed topic both in the New Testament and by early church fathers in the first three centuries. More than a book about prophecy, this life-changing guide will help believers live fully prepared for Christ's return while transforming the way we love, serve, and glorify God. Bevere recounts his personal shift from avoiding eschatology to fully recognizing its significance. Witnessing the misuse and division caused by End Time teachings initially led him away from the topic, but through the Holy Spirit's guidance and a deeper study of Scripture, Bevere's heart and life were transformed. Through extensive references to prophetic Scriptures, the book explores many of the over three-hundred New Testament mentions of Jesus’ return, providing a foundation that will help readers:
Through personal testimonies and a close examination of Scripture, John offers readers spiritual truths, insight, encouragement, and practical steps to develop a readiness shaped by faith and obedience. And as with The Awe of God, each chapter will close with his 5 P's: Passage, Point, Ponder, Prayer, and Profession. The King Is Coming is both a wake-up call, faith builder, and a source of hope for Christian men and women seeking to deepen their relationship with Christ and prepare for His glorious return.
