Just before Jesus ascended into heaven, he gathered his followers
around him and said, "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit
comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all
Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8). In
this way, Jesus entrusted the "flame" of the gospel to these men
and women and commissioned them to carry it to the world. He
promised they would receive supernatural power to help them
accomplish this task. The book of Acts records that these followers
of Christ took up the challenge and set the world ablaze with the
fire of the gospel. But this begs the question . . . who were these
people? In reality, most were ordinary men and women just like you
and me. They had not received hands-on training with Jesus like the
twelve disciples had received. They had not been specially trained
in ministry or teaching or serving. They were simply men and women
who made themselves available to God and followed the direction of
the Holy Spirit as he prompted them to act-and forever changed the
world. In Carry the Flame, bestselling author and pastor Jim
Cymbala reveals that God is still seeking ordinary men and
women-not just pastors or ministry leaders-who will make themselves
available to him, follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, and
accomplish extraordinary things in this world. He draws on examples
of ordinary people in Acts such as Ananias, Philip, and the 120 who
waited in the Upper Room-as well as modern-day testimonies-to show
how God can use anyone and everyone who simply submits to him and
obeys his leading. As you go through this study, you will be
challenged and encouraged to likewise take that first step of faith
for God . . . and see where it leads. This study guide has
everything you need for a full Bible study experience, including:

Communicating the eternal truth of the Gospel in the continually
changing context and language of contemporary culture can be a
challenging task. In "HEAR the WORD," author Dr. James A. Prette
explores authentic Christian preaching in the postmodern culture.
In this examination, Prette discusses the three essential
elements of persuasive communication-pathos, ethos, and logos-and
their parallels in Christian spiritual transformation-content,
context, and conveyor. He offers a theological reflection exploring
and defining a biblical paradigm for spiritual formation through
the exposition of the biblical logos that crosses cultural and
generational boundaries. He also delves into the cultural shift
that has taken place in the ethos of western culture, from a
modernist worldview to a postmodern one, and its impact on
Christian life and ministry.
"HEAR the WORD" offers nine important themes that can guide
spiritual leaders in listening to and proclaiming the authentic
word of God in this new postmodern paradigm.
This material will be based on several things to tie a lot of
things together, that might have been hindering us as Christians to
grow to our potential. You see there are keys in the word of God
that must be understood. To receive the total blessing of the
promises we must be incompliance of God´s revelation for man.
Within the keys we fine many things and within this material we are

found the best way to do that is to study the tribes. For which

tribes possessed. Each trait is a key in our understanding of a
closer walk with Christ. As we see the riches in getting closer to
the perfect character of Christ Jesus in our daily life. To enhance
our life in such a way that we can have victory in areas were we
struggle. Not saying we are going to be perfect here on earth, but
we can strive to be better each day. We will also decipher some
keys which will unlock and give clarity in some things in the New
Testament. That will enrich our lives forever God Bless You Let's
get started. The power in God's revelation instead of man's
interpretation sets free some things that hinders. This book will
be looking at the qualities or traits that build characteristics
that combined with other characteristics built Christ Jesus

Spiritual discernment is a key theme in the Scriptures. From the
Garden when Adam and Eve turned away from the simplest terms of a
relationship with God, to the Garden when John the Apostle wrote
the book of Revelation to a distracted people anticipating
eternity, discerning God has been the heart of the matter. In
modern times, however, we have forgotten the basic premise of
practicing a preference for God, out of which we then are invited
to live for God. Instead, we have implanted strategic planning,
head-to-head battling, and will-of-God knowing in its place. In The
Discerning Life, Stephen A. Macchia seeks to upend the one-eyed and
limited Christian understandings of spiritual discernment and
invite readers and leaders to reconsider how they prioritize the
care of their souls, the grace of their communities, and the
mission of their lives, churches, and organizations. When we have a
fuller understanding of how spiritual discernment matters to the
whole of our lives, we will in turn encourage others to follow
likewise and then lean fully into the mission, mandate, and message
of the whole counsel of God.
