Of all the books of the Bible, few are as fascinating or as
intimidating as Revelation. Four grim horsemen, the Antichrist, the
ten-horned beast, the ultimate battle at Armageddon, the "mark of
the beast." It's no wonder that these images have griped the
imagination of so many--and have been variously interpreted as
symbolizing everything from Hitler and Gorbachev to credit cards
and the Internet. Is the book of Revelation a blueprint for the
future? A book of powerful symbolic imagery with warnings for the
church? Is it essentially an imaginative depiction of historical
events in the first century? Four Views on the Book of Revelation
explores four interpretations of the book of the Apocalypse:
Preterist - a historical interpretation, arguing that most of
John's prophecies occurred in the first century, soon after his
writing of them. Idealist - a spiritual or symbolic interpretation,
arguing that the events in Revelation are not literal, and that
apocalyptic literature requires a different approach than the
Gospels or Epistles. Classical dispensationalism - a literal
interpretation based on a reading of Revelation that pays close
attention to the rules of grammar and the separate eras of
covenantal history. Progressive dispensationalism - a modification
of classical that has its root in the understanding of Christ's
reign beginning immediately after the resurrection. The
Counterpoints series presents a comparison and critique of
scholarly views on topics important to Christians that are both
fair-minded and respectful of the biblical text. Each volume is a
one-stop reference that allows readers to evaluate the different
positions on a specific issue and form their own, educated opinion.
This brief introduction to making effective arguments helps readers
to understand the basics of sound reasoning and to learn how to use
it to persuade others. Practical, inexpensive, and easy-to-read,
the book enables students in a wide variety of courses to improve
the clarity of their writing and public speaking. It equips readers
to formulate firmly grounded, clearly articulated, and logically
arranged arguments, avoid fallacious thinking, and discover how to
reason well. This supplemental text is especially suitable for use
in Christian colleges and seminaries and includes classroom
discussion questions.

Hope is on the horizon. Yes, life has a way of taking the life out
of us. We often go through challenges that seem so much greater
than our strength. But God is telling us that our glory days are
still ahead. We only need to grasp that truth and live in faith to
realize this promise. We serve a God who fights for us. In this
six-session video Bible study (DVD/digital video sold separately),
bestselling author and pastor Max Lucado invites you to walk out of
the desert and into the Promised Land of God's presence and glory.
With teachings from the story of Joshua, Lucado will help you and
your group: See the surprising ways God fulfills his promises.
Understand how every battle is ultimately a spiritual battle and
what that means for us. Learn how to pray more boldly than you ever
have before. God had a Promised Land in store for the Israelites,
but they had to grasp that reality, change their mindsets, and take
action to receive it. The same is true for us today. This study
includes leader helps, discussion questions, conversation starters,
and between-session activities to enhance your understanding and
application of Max's teaching. Sessions include: These Days Are

Jesus came to give us life. Jesus called twelve men to be His
disciples, but three fishermen-Peter, James, and John-shared a
special relationship with Him. They were given direct access to
some of the more pivotal events in Jesus' ministry, such as the
transfiguration, His raising of Lazarus from the dead, and His
agony in the Garden of Gethsemane. John's account thus gives us a
unique glimpse from one of Jesus' closest disciples into the
significance of the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. John
reveals how Jesus came to provide "living water" to quench our deep
spiritual thirst for the things of God. He shows how Jesus is the
"bread of life" who satisfies our deep spiritual hunger. And he
reveals how Jesus is the only way we can obtain that living water
and bread of life, for "no one comes to the Father" except through
Him. The Jeremiah Bible Study Series captures Dr. David Jeremiah's
forty-plus years of commitment to teaching the Word of God. In each
study, he will help you understand what the Bible says, what it
meant to the people at the time it was written, and what it means
to you today. Along the way, you will gain insights into the text,
identify key stories and themes, and be challenged to apply the
truth you find in your life.

Part of the Loyalty series, Loyalty and Disloyalty deals firmly
with the fine line that distinguishes between the two attitudes,
and talks about the defining moments we should all be aware of in
our own lives, and the lives of those around us. This book is a
roadmap for both leaders and followers. As leaders, we need wisdom
to guide our sensitivities. Picking up disloyalty early on in those
around us can prevent disaster later. Taking action swiftly and
firmly is vital. As followers, we need to be keenly aware when our
own loyalty to our shepherds is being diverted within ourselves.
Though a primary requirement of God for leaders, very little has
been written on this subject. In this book, Dag Heward-Mills
outlines very important principles, with the intention of
increasing the stability of churches. So relevant and practical is
the content of this book that it has become an indispensable tool
for many church leaders. Dag Heward-Mills is the founder of
Lighthouse Chapel International, which has become a worldwide
denomination. He is the author of several best-selling books and
his radio, TV and internet programs reach millions around the
world. Other outreaches include conferences for pastors and
ministers, and the renowned Anagkazo Bible Ministry & Training
Centre. "...a life-changing book. I believe your life will be
greatly enriched and renewed as you absorb and apply the truth it
brings to light. Surely it is God's desire that you become a leader
who has purpose, and is consistent in your personal life and
ministry. You will not only perceive your need to be a great
leader, but you will understand how to achieve it with victory and
confidence." - John Delgado, President, Vision International
University, Florida, USA.

Bible. In God of Adventure Bruce Dunning proposes 19 principles
from the Bible that outline the validity, core concepts and
teaching approaches of Christian adventure learning. "Finally A
book has been written for adventure learning leaders that is
grounded in Scripture. This well-researched and highly readable
text will be a valuable resource for Christian educators desiring a
stronger theological basis for their practice." -Ken Kalisch,
Author of "The Role of the Instructor in the Outward Bound
Educational Process," Associate Professor of Outdoor Education,
Montreat College, Montreat, North Carolina "Adventure learning has
long been with us but seldom understood or valued as the powerful
tool for learning and personal transformation as this book so
clearly shows it to be. Bruce Dunning has crafted a solid biblical
treatise for adventure learning with great applications to ministry
and personal life. It is valuable reading for any youth worker or
Christian educator who is willing to go beyond the normative
approaches to the teaching-learning paradigm in helping young
people become all that God first created them to be." -John H.
Wilkinson, Executive Director of Toronto YFC, Toronto, Ontario "I
would buy this for the Appendix alone." -Stephen J. Cyphers,
