Pigment info: PY74Series 34oz (118ml) squeeze bottleAkua Liquid Pigment was originally developed for monotype printmaking, but it can also used for other techniques such as Japanese woodcut and painting on paper. The Liquid Pigment contains no chalk, fillers dryers or polymers and the addition of honey give the colours a brilliant, vibrant appearance that dry with a luminous finish. It has a slow drying formula which will allow for an extended working time to create images on a monotype plate. It is thick in consistency which is perfect for both additive and reductive monotype techniques. It can be mixed into Akua Intaglio Inks or the Transparent Base to create new colours, it can also be printed on top or beneath Akua Intaglio inks for multi-plate overlays. All colours are lightfast. The Liquid Pigment is rolled directly onto the plate rather than transferring the ink from a separate slab, saving time and money. The pigment can easily be modified to adjust the sheen, thickness and transparency. It prints beautifully on dry paper as it stays wet on the plate, eliminating the need for prior soaking, blotting, flattening and drying. Where the paper will not stretch or shrink, this means that your print will be registered perfectly. The pigment cleans up easily with just water and a rag.
