Despite its glossy publicity campaign, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel for the Elderly and Beautiful turns out to be rather different from the refurbished luxury hotel advertised in the brochures. However, as the previously lonely people grow closer, the hotel soon begins to reveal some unexpected charms of its own. 'Life of Pi' (2012) is an Academy Award-winning fantasy adventure based on Yann Martel's Booker Prize-winning novel. Suraj Sharma stars as Pi Patel, a 16-year-old zookeeper's son from Pondicherry who finds himself stranded on a small boat in the Pacific Ocean in the company of a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan and a Bengal tiger following the shipwreck of the freighter on which he and his family were sailing for Canada. Over the course of several months Pi manages to survive on the meagre supplies of food and water he finds on the boat, and also takes up fishing, while in his half-delirious state he muses on various aspects of animal behaviour, religion and the meaning of life.

Can Cruz make sense of the bizarre circumstances and track down the missing girl? 'Bad Cop' (2010) is an action thriller set in post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans. Johnny Strong stars as Sean Riley, a beleaguered police detective struggling to cope with the recent death of his young son and the subsequent breakdown of his marriage. After a call goes horribly wrong, Riley looks set to lose his job - unless he can solve a series of brutal murders that have sent the city spiralling into gang warfare. In 'Operation Endgame' (2010) a top-secret facility underneath Washington D.C. finds two competing teams of assassins - code-named according to a deck of Tarot cards - at work. When a new employee known only as The Fool (Joe Anderson) arrives for his first day of work, he is alarmed to find his new boss murdered and the entire building rigged with explosives. The Fool must race against the clock to identify the killer and make his escape. Zach Galifianakis, Brandon T. Jackson and Maggie Q co-star.

Four animated escapades for the Real Ghostbusters. In 'Adventures in Slime and Space' Egon's 'ghost net' creates havoc when it slices Slimer into a multitude of smaller facsimiles. 'Ghostbusted' sees the team try their hand at crimebusting after wiping out all of the ghosts in the city, but their new profession soon leads them into danger. 'Knock-Knock' finds New York's subway over-run by ghosts, goblins and ghouls. 'Venkman's Ghost Repellers' has a host of sea ghosts form themselves into the ship-gobbling New Jersey Parallelogram.

Whit Stillman helms this offbeat romantic-musical-comedy following a group of social misfits as they negotiate the minefield of college life. Greta Gerwig stars as Violet, the emotionally fragile yet overbearing leader of a pretentious group of girls who imagine themselves superior to everyone else when in fact they are for the most part ignored by their fellow students. Everyday concerns such as dating disappointments, essay grades and social mores give way to the more perilous pitfalls of female friendship after the girls take it upon themselves to befriend new student Lily (Analeigh Tipton).

Documentary that sets out to tell the story of Status Quo's 50 year career as a band. Directed by Alan G. Parker, the documentary was supported by the group and saw the film crew given unprecedented access to the band. Indeed, the programme features the moment the original line-up of Status Quo reunited at Shepperton Studios - their first time together for 30 years. Brian May, Paul Weller, Cliff Richard and Midge Ure are among the fellow artists to pay tribute to the Quo and the extraordinary duration of their career.
