Splatt could not have imagined that a simple quest to find colour would reveal its true essence!
Splatt, an adolescent water drop, lives in Sea Drop Village on the ocean floor at a depth where water has absorbed all colours of light spectrum, and everything appears grey. He is curious and somewhat rebellious; and struggles to blindly accept the authoritarian dogma he is taught – from the dangers of entering the open ocean, to a required unyielding reverence to Thunder God his creator, and finally the threat of death by painful evaporation should he rise to the surface. But most of all he refuses to accept that colour does not exist.
Splatt becomes preoccupied with the fabled Colourland and convinces his girlfriend Lara to set out under the cover of darkness to find it. But only meters into their quest they get separated by strong currents and carried in opposite directions. Both know the only way to reunite is to find Colourland. But the ocean is vast and home to diverse Drop Species that are often hostile.
Success seems increasingly unlikely and at times impossible. The Question is: is colour found in the journey, the destination, or beyond?

This revised Student Edition includes an introduction by Bess
Rowen, Visiting Assistant Professor at Villanova University, US,
which looks in particular at the play's treatment of rape,
vulnerable people, mental institutions (especially in connection to
Williams's own family), sexuality and sexual desire. A Streetcar
Named Desire shows a turbulent confrontation between traditional
values in the American South - an old-world graciousness and beauty
running decoratively to seed - set against the rough-edged,
aggressive materialism of the new world. Through the vividly
characterised figures of Southern belle Blanche Dubois, seeking
refuge from physical ugliness in decayed gentility, and her brutal
brother-in-law Stanley Kowalski, Tennessee Williams dramatises his
sense of the South's past as still active and often destructive in
modern America. METHUEN DRAMA STUDENT EDITIONS are expertly
annotated texts of a wide range of plays from the modern and
classic repertoires. A well as the complete text of the play
itself, this volume contains: * A chronology of the play and the
playwright's life and work * An introductory discussion of the
social, political, cultural and economic context in which the play
was originally conceived and created * A succinct overview of the
creation processes followed and subsequent performance history of
the piece * An analysis of, and commentary on, some of the major
themes and specific issues addressed by the text * A bibliography
of suggested primary and secondary materials for further study
A moving, lyrical picture book about a shy child unlocking the
power of their own voice through poetry, with the helping hand of
an extra special teacher, written by multi-award winning poet and
Waterstones Children's Laureate Joseph Coelho. From the creators of
If All The World Were, winner of the 2019 Independent Book Shop
Picture Book Award which has been translated into 13 languages,
this beautifully illustrated, powerful and heartwarming text shows
children that everyone's voice can be powerful and beautiful,
however small. Allison Colpoys' gorgeous artwork spills from every
page as she shows this most heartwarming of tales. Follow a child
who is so shy she doesn't speak. With the encouragement on an
enchanting and magical teacher, she writes a poem. But a poem is
meant to be read aloud! She musters all her courage, stands at the
front of the class and shows her classmates that she does have a
voice. And her voice is BEAUTIFUL! The perfect way to encourage
empathy in young children and show shy children how to feel brave,
this beautiful story will delight readers time and time again.
