Marrick has the most beautiful coal black eyes I do not think that I have ever seen eyes this dark and so black before and his dark wavy hair just flows around his face But I still cannot get over how pale white he looks and I cannot take my eyes off of him We walk up on to my porch we are now standing in front of my door. He looks down at me and he gently places his index finger under my chin to have me look up at him I do not fight it. There is such a cooling feeling coming from him. He bends his head down so that he can look into my eyes and now he is lowering himself closer to my shoulder. "Renee, I will make you mine " He whispers in my ear with a very soft low voice. I feel his lips dragging on my skin his cool feeling lips I can feel my blood coursing through my body. I can feel his arms tightening around me so that he can hold me tighter against him all of a sudden I feel a sharp stabbing pain in my neck and I can feel him gently sucking on my skin. I do not know what to do but the pain does distract me of what I was feeling a moment ago He releases my skin from his mouth and he looks at me once more. "Renee, I am sorry for what I just did I got caught up in the moment. I wanted to taste you " He says to me as he looks into my eyes. I see his eyes they look different somehow they look darker. Then I notice that there is actually blood on his bottom lip his soft pale lips Is that blood from me?
Josep Pla is Catalonia's foremost twentieth-century prose writer. He witnessed and wrote about some of the twentieth-century's most notable events including the Spanish Civil War and the foundation of the state of Israel. Due to a lack of translations of his work he is only now being discovered by the international audience and will soon join the ranks of major realist writers in world literature. In Josep Pla, Joan Ramon Resina teases out the writer's deep-seated intellectual concerns and challenges the assumption of Pla as an anti-intellectual. Resina condenses Pla's forty-seven volumes of work, including travel books, narrative fiction, and history, into eleven thematic units: including time, memory, perception, life, religion, metaphysics, utopia, and self-delusion. Resina acutely explores the writer's authorial gaze and invites the reader to see the world through the eyes of one of the most underappreciated observers and writers of the twentieth-century.

The first book in an intense, thrilling and erotic, m/m urban fantasy series from an exciting new author in the genre! It's been ten years since Shane Conell sold his soul to the Ice King in order to save the life of the man he loves. Correction, loved. After ten years, it's growing difficult to remember love, and hate, and laughter - until a chance appears to get back the only thing his frozen heart still wants... Drake Young is doing fine. Really. He's got a good job, nice benefits, and the soulless husk of his old lover only comes by to torment him every so often. However, it only takes the appearance of a creature from the Etherworld wreaking havoc on the decidedly nonmagical city streets to drag him out of retirement, forcing him to team up with the one person he can't bear even to look at! Now, Drake and Shane must race against the clock to keep their city from being destroyed, even if it means working together. And no matter how difficult it is to catch the creature, it's a hell of a lot more difficult to resist the urges that ten years haven't managed to kill.

Venus in Furs (1870) is a novella by Austrian writer Leopold von Sacher-Masoch. Intended as an installment in his Legacy of Cain cycle, Venus in Furs has far surpassed the author's other works in cementing his reputation. The work, which inspired Kraft-Ebing to define "masochism," is notable for its exploration of female dominance and male sexual submission. The frame narrative begins with an unnamed man who develops a strong sexual desire after having a vivid dream. Disturbed, he tells a friend about the vision, in which he spoke to the goddess Venus while she was wearing luxuriant furs. In the memoir, which appears to have written by his friend, a man named Severin von Kusiemski describes his love affair with Wanda von Dunajew. Moved by a strong desire, Severin asks to be made Dunajew's slave, and though she denies him at first, she soon grows to take advantage of her power of the man. As she grows progressively more violent in her treatment of Severin, she satisfies his desires while simultaneously learning more about her own. Severin, who describes himself as a suprasensualist travels with Dunajew to Florence, where he invents an identity as a Russian servant and acquiesces to a life of degradation and servitude. When Dunajew meets a domineering and attractive man, however, she begins to question her role as Severin's master, desiring a submissive relationship of her own. Venus in Furs is a semi-autobiographical work describing Sacher-Masoch's details through a thin veil of fictional devices, and remains influential for charting new territories in the representation of alternative sexualities. With a beautifully designed cover and professionally typeset manuscript, this edition of Leopold von Sacher-Masoch's Venus in Furs is a classic of Austrian literature reimagined for modern readers.
