This is the story of the lives of four ladies: Denise, Keisha, Liz, and Tonya. Denise is living the most normal life she possible can with her husband, Eric, the man she loves and whom she will never leave. Keisha, a real estate agent, enjoys the single life until she meets a man named Robert, who is a handsome and rich bachelor. Keisha is very independent, living her life and doing her own thing; no man is going to change her lifestyle . . . or will he? Liz is married with three children, but she is still lonely because her husband, Mr. Frank, is never home. Liz meets a young man named Terrence and falls deeply in love with him. What will Liz do? Is she in love with the other man? Tonya does anything with anyone and lives the single life. Tonya doesn't care about herself, her five-year-old child, or her mother, even though she is still living at her mother's home. Watch out for Tonya; she may be with your man . . . or your woman.
As the fourth son of merchant parents, Matthew Morgan has always been superfluous. The only guidance he ever received was to behave himself and stay out of the way. Now, at a new university half a world away from home, he must discover who he is and what he wants. The only trouble is, he's never made a decision in his life. When Ash Thearon meets Matthew - the handsome fellow student he's been ogling all term - he finds him sweet, sexy, and more than a little puzzling. To solve that puzzle, he must first collect all the pieces - something more easily said than done. The new friends quickly become lovers, but Matthew's sheltered life has taught him only how to follow another's lead. Ash wants more than that; he wants the give and take of an equal. Matthew's tendency to try too hard to please others leaves Ash wondering how to teach him independence without losing him.
Justin Graham thought he could stomach the life that his wealthy, self-centered wife had created for him, until he realized he was living it from inside a scotch bottle. Having had enough of the lie and Anastasia's controlling ways, he packs his bags and leaves. Finally free from the drama, Justin breathes a sigh of relief and prepares for the fallout; fallout he thought he could handle-until the first murder attempt.
How will Miranda Nichols-a young, attractive widow-choose between two men she loves, both of whom want to marry her? After permanently moving from Manhattan to her country home, Miranda meets Jeremy Pearson, a sweet learning disabled man who awakens her long dormant sexuality. Their life together promises to be easy, full of fun and uncomplicated-that is until Nick Kramer enters the picture. Nick is the sophisticated New Yorker Miranda reconnects with during her book-signing trip to Manhattan. Each man appeals to her on different levels, and it is not until the very end that we discover Miranda's choice.
To the casual observer, Ann Foster leads an idyllic life on a beautiful estate in southeastern Wisconsin. There, Ann and her husband, Brad, have known great happiness, as they've seen their two children, Andy and Jenny, grow. Jenny and her father are inseparable, and now her son is off to college. Life should be perfect ... but Ann starts experiencing strange premonitions of danger. Concerned, her husband suggests that she seek medical attention, but the doctor assures them that everything is fine. Ann lands a job at an advertising agency, and Mark Manchester is her boss. But when Ann survives a brutal home invasion and other frightening events, it looks like her premonitions were actually predictions of danger. Mark reaches out to his employee, and Ann finds his compassion and support to be a great comfort in scary times. When she sees him talking to two men she feels are stalking her, however, she starts to worry that maybe Mark isn't what he seems. Complicating matters more, while on a business luncheon with her boss, she is surprised to see her husband out with his client, Suzette Monnet. These events only fuel her paranoia and suspicion, and Ann fears that she can't trust anyone. Just when she thinks things can't get any worse-they do. Alone at home one night, she's attacked, and in her last moment of consciousness, looks up to see Jenny's rifle aiming down from above. At that moment, Ann knows that their lives will never be the same.
Universities are normally conservative institutions. In this book they are not. The professors depicted in this imaginary institution exceed conventional norms. They go all out in their seeming quest for propagation. They exemplify the shadow side of our culture. Their braininess is fully compensated by their horniness. The male and female professors in this book engage enthusiastically in all kinds of normal, abnormal, experimental, experiential and orgiastic sexual activities. Dionysus, the Greek God of fruitfulness, would fully approve. Young and older readers will find inspiring images and detailed descriptions of specific acts of love-making that will help them overcome the normal boundaries of morality and allow their secret wishes to come to the forefront. The protagonists depicted here overcome the restrictions of conventional morality - shame, marriage and personal love. The pair gets enlarged to a trio, the trio to a quartet, the quartet to an octet. The bodies merge into a single body; the boundaries between heterosexuality and homosexuality get exceeded. Anything goes.
