Ale Faurlin joined the Club in the summer of 2009 from Instituto de Cordoba and has since made his mark on the QPR faithful, becoming a pivotal player in our push for the Championship title two seasons ago, as well as our return to the Premier League last term. Faurlin was arguably one of the QPR's standout players of last season despite suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in January that signalled an abrupt end to his season. After playing an impressive part in QPR's Championship-winning season of 2010/11, the Argentinean was, unsurprisingly, one of the first names on the team-sheet come the start of the following campaign. Inspired performances in Rangers' opening few games were instantly enhanced with an influx of new recruits following Tony Fernandes' takeover of the Club in August. Undoubtedly one of the most technically-gifted players at QPR, Faurlin also showed a keen eye for goal, scoring at Wolverhampton Wanderers in September. His left-footed drive past Welsh international Wayne Hennessey helped the R's to a second away victory - and clean sheet - of the season. Faurlin's performances then continued to go from strength to strength, with excellent displays against would-be Premier League champions Manchester City and Stoke City. His season, however, was cruelly cut short by that cruciate ligament injury picked up during Rangers' FA Cup third round fixture at MK Dons. Despite that, the cultured midfielder couldn't keep away from Loftus Road and was frequently spotted cheering on his team-mates for a difficult - but ultimately successful – run-in.

Also, he helped theclub to clinch another Spanish super cup, two league titles, and a UEFAChampions League in the years that followed. Alves has held a Spanishpassport since 2005. On Thursday, September 29, 2011, Alves wasappointed as a Special Olympics Ambassador for its Global Footballprogram, charged with promoting respect and inclusion in football forpeople with intellectual disabilities, particularly in the run up tothe 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Barcelona On 2 July 2008, Alves joined FC Barcelona. He left Sevilla in tears andsaid that he would love to play for Sevilla again. He said that he cameto Sevilla as a boy and is now leaving as a man, but later broke downin tears at the press conference. The official price of the transferstands at £23 million up front, with about £7 million more to paydepending on a number of performance related factors over the next fewseasons of Alves' Barcelona career, making him the world's mostexpensive defender and the third most expensive player bought by Barca. He signed a four-year contract with Barcelona, that includes a buy-outclause of 90 million Euro's.

Jose Bosingwa da Silva, known as Bosingwa, is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League, as a right defender. An attacking fullback, his pace and ability to get up and down the flanks creates problems for the opposition. He spent most of his professional career with Porto and Chelsea. A Portuguese international in the 2000s, Bosingwa represented the nation at Euro 2008. Chelsea On 19 June 2009, FC Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge conceded defeat in his club's attempt to sign Bosingwa, who remained at Stamford Bridge. He sustained a knee injury in October, being rendered unavailable for the rest of the season. The club announced in early March that he required further surgery, ruling him out of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. On 24 April 2012, Bosingwa played a vital role in Chelsea's match against Barcelona in the Champions League semifinals. He replaced injured Gary Cahill after only 12 minutes, and helped his side record a 2-2 draw at the Camp Nou and a 3-2 aggregate win; for most of the match he had to play as centre-back, as John Terry was also sent off before half-time. In his natural position, Bosingwa played the full 120 minutes in the Champions League final against FC Bayern Munich, as the Blues won 4-3 on penalties and became the first club from London to win the tournament. With Chelsea's back four being commended for their ability to keep the strong opposing offense at bay, Bosingwa himself received plaudits for his efforts against French winger Franck Ribery; Shortly after, however, along with teammates Drogba and Salomon Kalou, he was told he could leave once his contract expired the following month. Queens Park Rangers On 17 August 2012, Bosingwa signed a three-year deal with Queens Park Rangers. He scored his first goal for his new club on the 28th, netting against Walsall in a 3-0 home win in the season's Football League Cup. In December 2012 Bosingwa was fined two weeks' wages, for refusing to sit on the bench for a league game against Fulham. Portugal Bosingwa's consistent performances at club level earned him his first call-up to the Portuguese national team in May 2007 for a UEFA Euro 2008 qualifier in Belgium. Bosingwa made 24 appearances for Portugal as first choice right back including all four matches at Euro 2004 in Austria and Switzerland.

Angel Fabian di Maria Hernandez is an Argentine footballer who currently plays as a winger for Spanish La Liga club Real Madrid and the Argentine national team. He is nicknamed El Angelito, Di Magia, El Flaco, El Pibito and Fideo, Spanish for noodle. Real Madrid 2011-12 season During the start of the 2011-2012 season, di Maria endured a tough series of matches as he struggled to adapt to the pace of the league following the summer break. As a result, di Maria's early performance for the season were mixed with moments of genuinely good play interspersed with moments of sheer madness by the Argentine. This point was well illustrated during Real Madrid's 1-0 defeat to Levante, a match which saw a clearly out of sorts di Maria commit a horror foul on Levante's Juanfran during the match. Di Maria caused the two teams to clash and an on-field incident ensued. After this, however, di Maria's performances improved, including opening up a significant gap at the top of the assists table. From October 2011, di Maria was being picked by Jose Mourinho ahead of Kaka and Mesut Ozil, a sign of his improving form. On 27 November 2011, di Maria played 60 minutes in a league game against city rivals Atletico Madrid, in which he scored a goal for Real Madrid. Jose Mourinho's team won the game 4-1. On December 3, 2011, Di Maria scored Real's first goal from a sharp angle in a 0-3 defeat of Sporting de Gijon in the La Liga. Playing style Di Maria is renowned for his ability to assist goals from his left-wing position, assisting 20 goals in his first Real Madrid season alone. He is known as a quick player and a very good dribbler. In the national team he has occasionally taken on a more defensively responsible role. In the beginning of his European career, Di Maria was not famous for his goal scoring, but improved this aspect of his game, scoring six goals in his debut La Liga season.

Andrew Thomas "Andy" Carroll is an English footballer who plays for West Ham United, on loan from Liverpool, and the England national team as a striker. Carroll started his professional career with Newcastle United in 2006, before spending a brief period on loan with Preston North End, during which time he scored his first league goal. He established himself as a regular in the Newcastle first team by 2008, and following Newcastle's relegation from the Premier League to the Championship in 2009, scored 17 goals in 39 appearances to help Newcastle finish first in the league, earning immediate promotion back to the Premier League in the process. He continued to play for Newcastle in the Premier League, scoring 11 goals in 19 appearances. Carroll signed for Liverpool on the last day of the transfer window on 31 January 2011 for a fee of 35 million, which to date represents both Liverpool's most expensive ever signing, and the highest amount ever paid by one club to another for a British footballer. Carroll was bought to replace Fernando Torres, who moved from Liverpool to Chelsea on the same day for a fee of 50 million, making Carroll the secondmost expensive player currently playing for a British club, behind Torres. An injury sustained in December delayed his Liverpool debut until March 2011, and he scored his first two goals for his new club in April 2011 in a 3-0 victory over Manchester City. In August 2012, Liverpool agreed a deal that would see Carroll spend a season-long loan at West Ham.
