The Book Your Church Doesn't Want You To Read By Tim C. Leedom This book is delivered to you with the hope that that fires will ignite in your mind. The Editor and authors who have spent years of study, research and investigation share in a general point of view - the view that the religious beliefs held by many people in the United States and other countries, are totally unfounded. The foundation of the book is the spirit of free inquiry, from the ancient Greeks - Pythagoras, Socrates and others . This book is an enquiry into crucial issues of today. These issues need examination, for we are now all villagers in the global electronic village of the world, of which social commentator Marshall Mcluhan spoke of 30 years ago. This is not an anti-religious book. The search for the meaning of life started long before Moses and, Jesus, Mohammed or organised religion. This book is a reference guide that is meant to be challenging and informative. Book Size 6" x 9"
"The enemy in washington is more to be feared than the enemy in Moscow" Communism did not destroy tariff protection created by George Washington. Communism did not force the United States to adopt graduated income tax. Communism did not create the Federal Reserve Board. Communism did not force the United Nations on America. Communism did not take away the Panama Canal away from the American people. Communism did not create the Global 2000 report mass genocide plan. It is socialism that has brought forth these evils upon the United States. "One World Order: Socialist Dictatorship" tells how this was, and is being accomplished.

Being a facsimile reproduction from Theatrum Chemicum Britannicum, written in 1652, with annotations by Elias Ashmole. The historian may find small value in the Ordinall as a chemical document, however its sprightliness of style, its somewhat archaic, yet not difficult, language, and its atmosphere of romance, combine to make it a delightful book to read. The Ordinall is written in Old English text.
Joe Klein, best-selling author of Primary Colors and one of our most brilliant political analysts, now tackles the subject he knows best: Bill Clinton. Astute, even-handed, and keenly intelligent, The Natural is the only book to read if you want to understand exactly what happened–to the military, to the economy, to the American people, to the country–during Bill Clinton’s presidency, and how the decisions made during his tenure affect all of us today.
The definitive word on the subject from the dean of urban legend studies.
Do spiders sleep? Why are barns red? Why is there a crescent moon on outhouse doors? Are zebras white with black stripes or black with white stripes? As the Xerox Corporation's official webmaster, Bill McLain often fielded as many as 1,000 questions a day on just about everything under the sun -- and beyond. The wildest, funniest, and even most astute are collected here (along with their answers) in McLain's second volume that's as fascinating and enlightening as his first, Do Fish Drink Water? A "veritable Internet legend known for having all the answers" (San Francisco Chronicle), McLain explains what keeps squirrels from toppling off telephone wires; why the skin on your fingers and toes shrivels up in the water; how seedless watermelons are created; and more. Whether it's animal, vegetable, mineral, or something completely different, the answer is bound to be as interesting as the question itself, and certain to satisfy the trivia hound in everyone.
More than a quarter century after Bob Woodward introduced his Scotch-drinking, cigarette-smoking, garage-skulking friend and source in All the President's Men , the public remains enduringly engrossed by the mystery of Deep Throat's identity. Leonard Garment became fascinated himself and began his own search for Deep Throat. This is the story of that hunt and its successful outcome, a hunt conducted in quintessential Washington fashion: at lunches, dinners, and parties, through the examination of secret, classified documents and testimony, and assisted by liberal doses of political gossip and insider tips from Woodward himself.
"I'm not asking you to believe every conspiracy theory you'll find in this book. . . . I didn't write this book to give you all the answers. The Warren Commission did that, and the answers were all wrong. I wrote this book to inspire you to do what the powers that be wish you wouldn't: to question authority . . . and to keep an eye out for Elvis."
The Canadian media system, which in many respects is this society's "meeting ground"-its public square-is in the midst of a profound shift away from the foundations on which it has rested comfortably for decades. The publicly financed Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, long the backbone of the broadcasting system, is threatened by budget cuts and by technological change. The newspaper industry has fallen into the hands of a few powerful individuals. Huge global corporations and a vast communications revolution are dramatically altering the nature of news and entertainment. This book argues that unless action is taken these changes will narrow our access to the information we need as citizens and damage our capacity to communicate with each other and reflect on ourselves as a community. Power and Betrayal in the Canadian Media is a sweeping exploration of the Canadian media system and the impact it has on Canadian society, politics, and culture.
When Hillary Clinton spoke of "a vast right-wing conspiracy"
determined to bring down the president, many people dismissed the
idea. Yet if the first lady's accusation was exaggerated, the facts
that have since emerged point toward a covert and often concerted
effort by Bill Clinton's enemies--abetted by his own reckless
behavior--which led inexorably to impeachment. Clinton's foes
launched a cascade of well-financed attacks that undermined
American democracy and nearly destroyed the Clinton presidency.
On June 10th, 2002, Attorney General John Ashcroft announced that the US had captured a known terrorist who was exploring a plan to explode a "dirty bomb" on American soil. That alleged terrorist was Jose Padilla who was finally charged in 2005 with conspiracy to murder. What Ashcroft didn't talk about was how information against him was obtained - by the relentless torture of one man-- Binyam Mohamed, in the name of the United States. Arrested at Karachi Airport before Padilla's arrest on April 10, 2002, Mohamed was put on a luxury executive jet and flown to an interrogation center in Morocco. For over 18 months, he was subjected to one torture after another: Beating followed beating and, then, his guards produced razor blades and began to split the skin all over his body, including on his genitals. Since 1997, hundreds of people, many of whom have no ties to terrorist organizations, have been abducted from foreign airports or street corners on suspicions based at times on the flimsiest of evidence courtesy of the United States Central Intelligence Agency. In "Ghost Plane," Stephen Grey tells the true story of the CIA's torture program known by the euphemism "extraordinary rendition" and the airplanes that make the program run. Begun during the Clinton administration, but taking a decidedly more voracious turn after 9/11, the rendition system has seen the transfer of more than 1000 prisoners into jails stretching from Guantanamo to Syria, from Kabul to Bangkok and beyond. Grey had access to the thousands of CIA flight records and has interviewed dozens of sources from the most senior levels of the National Security Council to the CIA. In Ghost Plane, he paints a disturbing picture of the War on Terror that reaches to the highest levels of power in Washington, D.C. and exposes the extreme ethical corruption at the heart of this US government program, a program finally acknowledged by President George Bush in September 2006, undertaken in the name of the citizens of the United States.. Barranger and Tice join forces in an overall investigation into human origins, religion, mythology, UFOs, and other unexplained phenomena as they cover the most ancient mysteries and end up with an assessment of where we are currently from a religious and spiritual standpoint.
The author of the History of the First Council of Nice, Dean Dudley, searched the annals of history using the most scholarly and trusted sources available to reveal exactly how Christianity, as we know it today, was "railroaded" into existence. This was the first major council in Christendom, taking place in the year A.D. 325. The major controlling force behind this convention was the Roman Emperor Constantine. Constantine came to power in ruthless fashion, one of six sovereigns of the Roman Empire in the year A.D. 308 (they had been collectively appointed in 305). Only Constantine survived beyond the next decade and only one of the other sovereigns died a natural death. Constantine seemed to be involved in the deaths of each of the others, who were all non-Christian. It became politically expedient for Constantine to side with Christianity during this early and ruthless power struggle, and murderous plots were its central theme. After Constantine triumphed, he recalled or released Christian ministers who had been persecuted by his rivals. With his ruthless past weighing heavily on him, he was told by a counsellor that there were no sins so great that they cannot be forgiven in Christianity. This was exactly what he wanted to hear. He embraced the faith enough to justify what he had done and, although he did not officially convert, approved the faith in 313 for the entire Roman Empire. Following this, he went on to eliminate close relatives and family who might otherwise challenge his crown. Christianity seemed to be his" partner in crime." Later, on Constantine's own deathbed, he made sure to officially convert to the faith in an effort to wash away his sins. The Council ofNice, basically run by Constantine, endorsed a few erroneous and inaccurate concepts which were accepted by the faith, and thereby opened the door for such practices to continue in later years. We should study the origins of our human problems so we can make an attempt to solve them. Christ
This work was originally published by the independent Bible Society of New York. This edition is an updated version with a new introduction by Paul Tice. The Bible is commonly referred to by many of us as "the good book." But do we really know what's in it when we so freely give it that title? It is a work which certainly has its good points, but why do we insist on glossing over and ignoring the things that would be considered bad or embarrassing? Lots of strange things happened in the Bible. If they made the Bible into a movie (in its entirety) it would be rated X. Would you want your kids to go see it? Read this book and then decide. We do not recommend this book to those under 18 because, even though it is the Bible, we might in fact be accused of selling pornography It's unlikely that your local minister would use many of these passages in his sermons. If you're the kind of person who sees movies for the action scenes and always likes things happening then don't bore yourself with the rest of the Bible - just read this one. All the boring stuff was taken out. Just kick back and enjoy all the sex, bloodshed and murder you can stand - it's all in here and it's all yours for just a few measley bucks. Sure, it's embarrassing for a minister or the church itself to be confronted with these realities. There is good and bad in all of us, and the Bible is no exception. For those who take the Bible literally and wish to follow its example, we can only tell you that what is found within many of its pages docs not add up to a profound moral code. Look at the Spanish Inquisition and the Crusades, as two examples, and you will find they were not following a profound moral code at the time, butused the Bible as their guidepost in all of their brutal decisions. This book exposes many of the Bible's most shocking passages -- things you never imagined the "holy book" would contain. If you have read this back cover without being too offended, then chances are you will be intrigu
Translated from the Russian by Victor Marsden. The Protocols supposedly outlines a plan of action by elders of the Jewish Nation to rule the world -- to take control over key organizations, including assets, in order to manipulate world affairs in their favor. Some say the issue has already been settled conclusively -- that it is clearly a forgery. Although there may be final evidence to this effect, we have not seen a clear and convincing version of it produced by those making the claim. Others maintain that it was and is absolutely genuine -- proven by the fact that all copies were destroyed in Russia in the early 1900s by the Kerensky regime. In the following years, anyone caught with a copy could be, and sometimes were, shot on sight. It was law, The Protocols were taken seriously by the Russians and by people in America like the famed industrialist, Henry Ford. This seems to give it validity, but people (and nations) have been known to be fooled. If The Protocols are a forgery, they still form an interesting book which deserves to be studied in the same way "The War of the Worlds" radio broadcast duped many thousands into thinking we were being invaded by Martians in the early part of the 20th century. If, however. The Protocols are genuine (which can never be proven conclusively), it might cause some of us to keep a wary eye on world affairs. We neither support nor deny its message, we simply make it available for those who wish a copy.
Baron de Guldenstubbe thought statues wrote him letters. Lady Blount thought the earth was flat. Cyrus Teed thought it was hollow, and Edward Hine believed the British were the lost tribe of Israel. These are just a few of the stories that make up Eccentric Lives and Peculiar Notions, John Michell's fascinating new book. Available for the first time in paperback, this book explores the bizarre and often hilarious lives of wholehearted eccentrics with compassion and humor. As Michell explains, many of these eccentrics lived happy, prosperous lives, while others, such as the hapless inventor of a giant battleship made of ice, died alone and neglected. Whatever their history, these eccentrics come to life again on the pages of this uniquely marvelous book that will enchant readers of all ages. Filled with illustrations and photos, Eccentric Lives and Peculiar Notions is a treat to read. And everyone who has ever wondered what the druids were really like or what the early UFOlogists thought they saw in the sky will enjoy this wild ride of a book. |
