"Where IS Your Mother?" offers answers to the everyday questions regarding basic etiquette and simple grace. Fun, easy, and informative, this guide will open the doors to rediscovering the importance and ease of basic etiquette and simple grace in today's world. This is not "just another book on etiquette"-each chapter is filled with sound information and great tips presented in a simple, informative, and straightforward manner. The easy strategies for more gracious living within are founded on classic eighteenth-century guidelines, re-imagined for today's considerably more complicated life, society, and lifestyles. Many basic (and not-so-basic) etiquette questions are addressed, along with the mystery of whether or not Grandma was really telling the truth about the power of the magic words of etiquette: "please, thank you, " and "excuse me. "The presentation of these guidelines has been simplified, eliminating the intimidation of the subject matter, but the basics are very much in line with the Old World etiquette lessons-lessons that author Ava Carroll-Brown feels should not only be taught and followed but practiced regularly. "Where IS Your Mother?" is a wonderful addition to any reference library and the perfect gift for anyone at any occasion.

"Miss Manners with Fangs." --"LA Weekly"We live in a world that's
very different from the one in which Emily Post came of age. Many
of us who are nice (but who also sometimes say "f*ck") are
frequently at a loss for guidelines about how to be a good person
who deals effectively with the increasing onslaught of rudeness we
all encounter.
This book was written by David Chiles creator of Netiquette, NetworkEtiquette.net. It is an easy to read technical book for social success because the internet is social. There are no big words, just big concepts. Netiquette is the social code of the internet. The principles of netiquette provide anyone the tools necessary to be successful on the internet. It does not matter how you define success. The principles have been laid and can be applied. In principle you can set a goal and reach it.
There are plenty of etiquette and manners books available, but how many are exclusively for Catholics? How many focus on the fact that manners are morally good inner character traits that are exhibited in an outward manner? Our lives are full of moments when we are not sure how to handle a certain situation. These occasions of uncertainty and discomfort could be everyday activities or special events that only happen once a year. This practical book is the perfect guide to help you learn to do the correct thing in any situation -- at Catholic Sacramental functions, in public, or in the home. In addition to basic behavior for Sacramental events, this little handbook offers a wide range of advice and addresses such topics as: What to say and do (and what not to say and do ) when visiting convents How to greet a bishop or religious, and addressing ecclesiastics Appropriate dress and grooming for various functions The correct thing regarding Faith in the workplace Responsibilities of a Catholic in respect to civic duty Cultivating engaging and appropriate conversational skills How to have a happier home life The physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of education Picking proper entertainment, as an index of character Obligation of Catholics when traveling. Etiquette is not something that is turned on and off. Good manners, decorum, and charity benefit not only us personally, but the entire society. Good manners show an inner character that the ancients called "virtues" -- those morally good inner character traits that are exhibited in an outward manner. That is why there really is no such thing as "company manners." Written over 130 years ago, nearly every tidbit of the author's advice that was applicable in 1881 is still true today. It's only when you stumble across a few obvious exceptions (a man shot in a duel, or how to treat your servants) that you are jolted back to the present. "The Correct Thing" is the perfect guide for parents -- as well as religious -- who want a practical guide to help "mind your manners" in any situation, and to foster morally good inner character traits that will be exhibited in an outward manner.

Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown... Have you ever witnessed a Lady? Not a woman, but a Lady. She's a girl by birth, woman by maturity and Lady by choice. Do you remember how the sight of a Lady made you feel? Did she smile at you? Could you feel her warmth? Do you remember her scent of comfort and truth? Can you recall how difficult it was explaining what you witnessed when she strolled by? Her high heels were music; her stride was a song. She walked in greatness influencing nations with each step. Do you remember the first time you saw a Lady? Well, when was the last time you saw her? Her story isn't being told. Her legacy is being watered down and society is taking notes. She's much more than a victim with hips. "GENTLEWOMAN" sets out to explore the demise of femininity and class in contemporary society. Unlike any other book, the author shares a lifetime of relevant research and insight that will inform, educate and empower womanhood. The book is fresh, fun and sexy uncommon sense advice designed to facilitate a necessary conversation amongst the sexes that leads to real solutions. Oh, and a man wrote it CLASS IS BACK IN SESSION "From selecting wines to selecting a mate, I am re-branding etiquette. Making manners beautiful, again." -E.B. II

For example, if you make Ginger Scallion Sauce, it will keep up to a week and can be used in the Sichuan Chicken Flatbread and in the Ginger Scallion Salmon. You can add it to scrambled eggs or toss a few tablespoons in a salad for an extra treat. Make it once and use it for many dishes. In this way your family doesn't get tired of the same leftovers and you can have great dishes without starting from scratch.
'Road Rat's Tips - The musician's guide to keeping comfortable, safe, sane and employed on the road' is as informative as it is hilarious. Drawing on 20 years as a professional musician, author Pete Cook gives an exclusive backstage look at the perils and pitfalls of life as a journeyman. In the real world, being able to play well doesn't necessarily guarantee you'll get work as a musician - in fact, playing well is only half the story. Road Rat's Tips deals with the other half. A valuable read for music students, semi-pro musicians and seasoned pro's alike, the book is packed with good advice and contains hundreds of tips. It works equally well as a cover-to-cover-read, something to be dipped into or, indeed, as a quick reference guide. Road Rat's Tips also provides a hilarious insider's look at the 'glamour' of the music business from the journeyman professional's viewpoint.

This guide to good manners was produced by Lillian Watson in 1921 as a rewrite of the Encyclopedia of Etiquette by Emily Holt. Mining her own experience as a social misfit and would-be social climber for material, it was a huge hit with those aspiring to a grander station. Originally published in two volumes, but presented here in one combined edition, The Book of Etiquette covers: the secret of social success engagements and weddings the intricacies of the social call correspondence and invitations use of the napkin yachting parties for bachelors musicals and private theatricals some important rules about golf the charm of correct speech and much more... The only serious competitor to Emily Post as etiquette maven to America between the wars, LILLIAN EICHLER WATSON (b. 1902) was a 19-year-old copywriter for the book publisher Doubleday when she was commissioned to rewrite the outdated Encyclopedia of Etiquette by Emily Holt.

I was encouraged to write the first instruction book on making lefse after many people approached me stating they would like to learn to make lefse. I could have made a video but realized a book would be easier to follow and I could reach more people in a book form. About six years ago I did just that. Having sold out on that book I am now offering this book, a second edition. By experimenting with recipes I can offer more detailed instructions; thus making the steps more explicit in making lefse. This is an instructional book for making lefse, a delicacy that is greatly welcomed by descendants of Norwegian emigrants that settled in many areas of the United States. It has been discovered and enjoyed by other ethnic backgrounds in recent decades. The purpose of such a book is to renew the art of making lefse back in to the families whose grandmothers made it several generations ago. If one hasn't made lefse a recipe is needed and the procedure must be simple to follow. Such is this step by step instruction book. Besides illustrated instructions this book contains four recipes, two using potatoes, one using potato flakes and one using mashed potatoes from a previous meal. The potato flake recipe saves the time and toil of preparing the potatoes to a riced consistency which is the primary product in the dough. The book contains countless tips throughout the instructions. It is indeed a complete guide in making lefse
