Most of Shorty's time was spent galloping through fields and jumping fences. That was the only world he knew and he was quite content with it. Then a tragic accident happened, leaving him lame and scarred, which turned his world upside down. Abandoned, he was left outside, cold and hungry, feeling sad and lonely. He endured a heartbreaking and abusive life until it got to the point where he didn't want to continue this life he was living any more. It was at that point when a strange man came and rescued Shorty and took him to a home of a family with children who loved him and thought he was beautiful, regardless of his scars and lame leg. His life would now be filled with all kinds of friends, of love, laughter, sadness and tears. This is the story about Shorty's life on the farm.

Using Topographic Maps to Find Deer Topographic maps and aerial photos can lead you right to the biggest bucks you've ever seen. You just have to know how to use them. Brad Herndon takes the mystery out of finding deer with maps. Through years of dedicated hunting and careful study of maps and photos, Herndon has perfected the use of maps to find the routes deer travel. And once you know where the deer will be headed you can establish the perfect ambush site. Maps are often the forgotten link in scouting prime deer habitat. Yet because they show you all the hills, gullies, rivers and ridges, you can learn the lay of the land without walking mile after unproductive mile. Maps won't eliminate the need to get in the woods, but they will tell the best places to start your search for the buck of your dreams. Herndon also shows hunters how to use the latest Internet and computer technology to personalize any map. Mark your stand locations, the locations of deer sign, even note the best possible wind direction to make your hunt a success. If you hunt deer, let Mapping Trophy Bucks lead you right to where the big boys hide. The rest is up to you.

Jaina, talk on the radio about what would happen to her much loved
guide and companion when she retired, Martin Clunes picked up the

couldn’t hurt.
Jack's story is often funny but also refreshingly candid. By the time he was two years old he had run in hundreds of races but was considered 'two slow' by the industry. Unbeknown to Jack he escaped having a bullet in his head but was instead thrown from a van into a ditch on a busy road near Canterbury in Kent after having 'his identity' ripped from his ear with a pair of pliers. He was one of the 'lucky' ones that ended up in a rehoming centre where he was loved and cared for until an owner could be found for him.
In a house high on a California hill, a young girl grows up in the shadow of the Great Depression. Cats appear, and the interweaving of their lives with those of the family changes them all forever. When her very own cat dies, Sandra must struggle with the concepts of loss and death. Years later, she and a battle-weary tomcat adopt one another, and her lessons in growing up continue. There is solace in the beauty of the countryside, the tiny Siamese kittens, the toothless old cat with the operatic voice, and the laughable duck in the living room. A Scattering of Cats offers us comfort as it echoes our own struggles to grow. We share the laughter, the tears, and the respect for cats as special fellow creatures.
