Pulled by a thread through a fog, Mowzl arrives in the human world
from a future time. In his home world Mowzl is a real mouse; here
in the human world he is a toy - but alive, with a heart and
feelings. He is found by Pip and LuLu, who are grown-ups, and LuLu
makes him a woolen pouch in which he can fly. He talks with wild
creatures and is upset to learn that the world is being badly
damaged by what humans are doing. In his home world there are no
humans to be seen and the world, or "wild web", is healthy. Mowzl
needs Pip to write his story to help him remember where he came
from and how to get back, and Pip writes everything that happens.
When Mowzl meets two children called Billy and Larky, they find
that they can understand the wild talk too, but only when they are
with the mouse, because of his magic. They are excited to learn
from creatures about the wild web, and they want to do something to
help. Billy and Larky soon get their friends involved, and they all
listen to the stories that Mowzl tells. Gradually, the mystery of
what happened to Mowzl before the fog is revealed. The Adventures
of Horatio Mowlz is an illustrated children's story that reflects
on the impacts human activity is having on the environment, whilst
taking readers on an adventure they will not forget.

Go on an adventure with Katherine Rundell ... From the winner of
the Costa Children's Book Prize 'A writer with an utterly
distinctive voice and a wild imagination' - Philip Pullman Feodora
and her mother live in the snowbound woods of Russia, in a house
full of food and fireplaces. Ten minutes away, in a ruined chapel,
lives a pack of wolves. Feodora's mother is a wolf wilder, and Feo
is a wolf wilder in training. A wolf wilder is the opposite of an
animal tamer: it is a person who teaches tamed animals to fend for
themselves, and to fight and to run, and to be wary of humans. When
the murderous hostility of the Russian Army threatens her very
existence, Feo is left with no option but to go on the run. What
follows is a story of revolution and adventure, about standing up
for the things you love and fighting back. And, of course, wolves.
Book 2 in the Magic Animal Cafe series! Worried about the future of
the cat cafe, Ellie and Blake investigate a rumour at the local
park. It's the perfect place to test their new ability to
understand animals - and there's a bird who's happy to talk. Shazza
the cockatoo is loud, bossy and obsessed with 'numnums'. All she
wants is to return to Australia. But for now she'll settle for
inviting herself home with Ellie and Blake, who soon learn that
getting along with animals can be just as hard as getting along
with people. About the Magic Animal Cafe series: Join Ellie and
Blake as they start new lives in a new town and a mysterious old
building. They've only just met, but already they share a magical
secret: they can talk to animals! That could prove useful with
Ellie's mum opening a cat cafe, but the cafe is under threat from a
greedy property developer - unless Ellie and Blake can stop him.
With engaging illustrations and quirky talking animals, Magic
Animal Cafe is perfect for animal lovers and young readers aged 7+.

A New York Times bestseller! Experience the beautiful story that
captivated the country about a little owl found in the world's most
famous Christmas tree. When Little Owl's home is cut down by people
saying it will make a beautiful Christmas tree, she's not sure she
wants anything to do with Christmas, whatever that means. But then

to care for them. Surrounded by kindness and helpful new friends,
Little Owl begins to wonder if Christmas might not be such a bad
thing after all.... Co-written by Ellen Kalish, caretaker of the

the true meaning of this special time of year.
Official World Book Day GBP1 book From Michael Morpurgo, co-founder
of the charity Farms for City Children, this charming story for
early readers evokes the wonder, muck and magic of a week on the
farm. The first of many Farm Tales to come, it is a window onto the
countryside, and the way its landscape and animals can leave an
impression on a child's heart forever. 'You're farmers for a week,
so you'll be busy. There'll be no time to miss home. You'll eat
like kings and queens, sleep like logs, and you'll hardly be out of
your wellies, except in bed.' When a young boy goes from the city
to stay on the farm, he discovers a world he never knew existed - a
world of vegetable gardens, ducks and geese, where the sheep graze
in the fields, where apples and pears grow in the orchard. He also
meets Jemima the pig: she smells and she slobbers, she breaks out
of her pen to steal potatoes, and she's the undisputed queen of the
farm. Soon, he's hiding acorns in his pockets to feed to her every
time he sees her. But then, Jemima starts to feel ill. Could she
have eaten too many acorns? Or does this queen of a pig have a
secret...?
The team who brought grins to young readers with "The Boston
Balloonies" and "I Met a Moose in Maine" have created a third
charmer about a family of codfish and their friends. According to
Shankman's rhyming narrative: The Cods of Cape Cod / Love their
summer vacation, / And though they could go / Anywhere in the
nation, / They keep coming back / To their favorite location, /
'Cause they know that Cape Cod's / A vacation sensation! The Cods
of Cape Cod / Have a house on the beach, / And it's just the right
size, / With a fish tank for each. . . . To this colorful
fish-friendly house come the Cods' many fishy friends, shrimp comes
from Sandwich, bass from Mashpee, swordfish from Chatham, and so
on. And boy, do they know how to have fun!
